Had to inside to have them clean the truck. Took forever. Horrible location to deal with. They should not be a dealer. Truck was also a piece of junk. Thatâ€™s not on them but uhaul. Transmission sounded like it was going to fall apart. Drove like it had no suspension. Horrible!
App wouldnâ€™t work, truck wasnâ€™t actually at the location, we spent an hour on the phone getting a new truck and driving to the NEW location only for them to take ANOTHER hour trying to figure out check in because it still wasnâ€™t working. 2 hours in total wasting time for a truck I booked a week in advance. Despicable
Measure the Gas that is coming out of their Gas Pumps. And or park the vehicles on a level surface or get someone who understands that concept.
Was confused where to return items rented (dolly and blankets) when dropping off at a drop-off location after a one-way trip between states so licked blankets and dolly in the cab so that they would not be stolen. It was a little unclear where/ how to return these items.

Check-in agent was rude and didn't know how to return my equipment. He pulled my account up on the computer and literally said, "I don't know how to do this. You'll have to call UHAUL and do it yourself." At that time his associate entered the store and called the police. He was shortly followed by 2 men who came in yelling and one of them began talking about killing people. Having already returned the keys to the agent refusing to help me, I promptly left due to concerns for my safety. I then called UHAUL as advised. I explained the situation to the first person on the phone, who had the insight and common sense to understand that it was unreasonable to expect me to return to the UHAUL drop off location since it was unsafe there. Accordingly, she transferred me to a "live" something who would be able to walk me through the check-in process over the phone. I SAT ON HOLD FOR 37 MINUTES. After finishing my dinner at a Jimmy Johns a safe distance from the UHAUL drop-off location, I decided to hang up and dial again. This time I spoke with someone who insisted I return to the location to check my truck back in. She expressed no insight whatsoever as to the ludicrous nature of such a request given that there were people there trying to murder one another and that I had already wasted almost an hour trying to do UHAUL's job for them. She further insisted that if I did not return to the location I would be charged a $20 fee. Just to recap at this moment: your agent didn't know how to check in my vehicle and promptly gave up and told me to call UHAUL and figure it out myself. Your phone employee insisted I return to a potential MURDER SCENE or get fined $20. Moving along: I asked this employee on the phone to connect me with someone who could make sure that I didn't get charged a $20 fee for refusing to return to an unsafe UHAUL murder scene on account of your agent not knowing how to do their job. She transferred me to a manager. The most the manager was willing to do was put an addendum on my account explaining what had happened, but could not guarantee that I would not be charged the $20 I'd-rather-live-than-be-murdered-at-UHAUL-tax. And rather than saying she would follow up on what happened with this, she said I would have to call in the morning to contest the charge if it occurred.
How about being honest with customers and provide services that you promised? Very deceptive business practices.
This was at a gas station location and it took more time to go through the rental check out process as I had to wait while the clerk checked out other customers buying gas and snacks. Along with waiting the clerk was not trained properly as it took longer to do rental paperwork and upon returning the trader they did not know how to receive the trailer back into inventory. Then I get a call 2 days later asking when I would be returning the trailer and was charged double the correct rate. Then I had to spend another hour calling uhaul customer service back to get corrected and it still has not been corrected.
The computer system was down yesterday, Memorial Day, I was told. Therefore, I did not receive a receipt...didn't like that. I was told to photograph my mileage, fuel level, and cargo area, which was fine and acceptable. The receipt, I was told, would be emailed to me today, 5/28. We'll see.
A man overdosed in the bathroom while returning the key. BAD EXPERIENCE
When I picked up the truck, the inside of the cab was filthy. It smelled like cigarette smoke, and there was dirt and sticky residue like from a drink that spilled in the cup holders. There were also potato chips all over the floorboard. I know that trucks are used frequently, but I fully expect that at bare minimum, the inside of the cab will be cleaned and disinfected before it's rented to the next customer. I was extremely disappointed in this part of the process.

When I picked up the truck it had almost half tank, I drove it for about 25 miles and used it for about 3 hours, before I dropped it off I put in $15 dollars in gas so it would be half tank. Returned it and today I see that they charged me extra $59 dollars for not filling the tank!! I called to tell them and they answered the first time and hung up then didn't answer again. I will be going there personally on Monday to complain about it!!
Great easy experience
I had a bad experience with the milage instrument on my Uhaul, so I ended being overcharged. Outside of that it was fine.
I was charged for blankets I never received, and to get the charges fixed has been difficult.
This was the most frustrating and outrageous experience I have ever had with u-haul. I never use anyone else for my moves but after this I will gladly use Penske. Not only was the pickup in an obscure gas station, but when I called to make sure I was in the right place I was answered with â€œuh....ok...?â€ And then, even though my reservation â€œguaranteedâ€ my whole order would be together at the same location, the guy had no idea I had ordered things beside the truck. He told me I would have to â€œget that somewhere else.â€ I received no paperwork, and was asked for my phone so he could â€œtake a picture of the receiptâ€. The truck would not crank when we started it at first, and we were not given any explanation on the truck or how to properly drive it. We had to go to the actual u-haul store where a very kind and helpful woman had to help us though the process, pull up all my paperwork and then procure the dolly that had been â€œguaranteed.â€ Other than that last encounter with the nice woman, I have never had such a bad experience. I will not be using u-haul in the future.

This was the WORST experience I have EVER had with Uhaul and I do ALOT of business with uhaul. My truck was dirty inside with trash and FURNITURE still in it when I picked it up. I asked for a utility hand truck and was charged for one, but did not receive it. I was charged a late charge and WAS NOT late. I was told that I could drop it off at ANY location and when I did the agent at that location said that I could not. So I had to drive back to the original location, which then made me late, and had an even more horrific experience. I went from having to pay a little over $110 to paying $171.01. I got charged for insurance ( that I didnâ€™t get), a hand truck (that I didnâ€™t get), a late fee (that should not have been charged) and was sent to 4 DIFFERENT people at 1-800-GO-UHAUL, and NO ONE could help me. I am ABSOLUTELY disgusted and disappointed in how I was treated and with what I had to pay for a simple local move.
At both pickup and return there was an issue. The persons I had to complete my transaction with weâ€™re confused as if this was their first time doing this. They were not courteous, professional nor knowable about the business. I guess this is U-Hauls way of conducting business per my experience hours before at 540 Valley Avenue Birmingham Al 35209 was despicable! The woman(Caucasian female, short blonde hair and manly mannerism) was rude, dismissive, and condescending! U-Haul has great rates but Iâ€™d rather spend hundreds somewhere else to feel that my business is appreciated and customer service is better!
