Kick the burns lake uhaul man to the curb i had the worst customer experience ever with this man and he would not refund me even though I didnt use the trailer and let him know right away. He was also screaming at me over the phone over nothing

The availability and location of the Uhaul dealer is not ideal. But I recognize that's what sometimes happens with a smaller rural location. The dealer was pleasant to deal with when you could get in contact with him.

We were supposed to drop off at Government Street Burnslake but that location was closed and we had to take the trailer out to Drcker Lake and find the location at the persons house up a gravel road. He had to talk us through directions while we were driving. Inconvenience and limited room to manoeuvre in.

Truck wasn't as clean as it could have been. A few things were left in the cab and the operator had the wrong day (thought I was picking it up on Saturday but I had booked Friday). However he was very friendly and helpful once we had sorted out the date problem.

Unfortunately, the person running the operation was very disorganized and in a hurry. It was not until I got to a friend's place that I was told the trailer lights were not plugged in.


Agent was very pleasant and easy to work with


We dropped the truck off at 9 am, with a full tank. The person who runs the place wasn't here. There was a note on the door that says open at noon. So my husband and I drove the truck to our hotel. A safer place than the uhaul location. Came back at noon with the truck. Had to call the place , the guy said he would be there in an hour. He shows up at 1:30. Said everything is fine and walked away from me couldn't stop and give his customer the time to check things out. I rented the truck on half a tank and returned it with a full tank. I got charged an extra day rental which is wrong if the guy can't be bothered to be at work for 9 am then he shouldn't charge customers late fees. He didn't have the time to make sure I returned the truck and trailer in the same order I rented it. Just kept on moving as if I was bothering him and taking away his time. Not impressive at all.

When returning the u-haul vehicle and car carrier, we called for two days and no one answered the phone at the Burns Lake, BC rental location. Suggest that voice mail be available to leave a message.

The van had something severely wrong with the front end. It was dangerous to drive and didn't handle well. Front tires were partially bald due to misalignment. Gasoline stated on contract was more than what was actually in the van. The tow dolley had been sitting underneath a tree for a long time and was very dirty. The straps were severely worn and frayed. The wiring was homemade and faulty. The cup and saucer assembly hadn't been lubricated in probably years and seized up at the end of the trip. Despite all of this I was still charged 688$ which is a ripoff.

Our reserved 26 ft unit was given to another party. This could have been a disaster for us, but the local dealer was able to work out a solution. We received no prior notification of the change. What's the point of a reservation system if U-Haul doesn't respect it?

Have the agent do a walk around with the customer at pick up time. I had to figure out for myself which truck it was. Other than that the agent was pleasant to deal with and very prepared for me. Even met with me prior to normal business hours for my convenience.
