It was about amount charged for gas! I was NOT informed that the gas has to be refilled and ,especially, when it is below 1/4 of the tank. When I took the vehicle it was just below the 1/4. I have driven only 9 miles but the estimate was made for 20 miles. In spite of this U-HAUL charged $30 for penalty as the gas was below 1/4th of the tank and charged exorbitant $ 28 for fuel, that is, for 8 gallons!! I am surprised to note that this vehicle consumes a Gallon per Mile......... Or U-Haul waiting to charge like this to rob their customer!!! I have to think hard before going to U-HAUL again or to recommend to any of my friends...... Let me see hon U-HAUL Managers handle this issue.... Though I raised this issue immediately I saw the bill, they have refunded only for the CLEANING charges, as the Location Representative admitted that she did put the charge inadvertently. But again there is no communication even to say that they have refunded partial claim! I had to call the Customer Service at least 5 times and hold on for more than 5 mins just to hung up........ Finally just now someone spoke to me and said they refer to a manager........

Drop off was a little disappointing as I could not drop at Maybank hwy site and had to drive 15 miles to Ashley River rd location. Overall a good experience!



I am furious. And I want my money back. I scheduled to pick up a 26 foot U-Haul and when I went to pick up the U-Haul I found out the 26 but had broken down and they only had a 20 foot available at that location. The movers were already at my house and I was paying them per hour. I had the storage unit available two blocks from your U-Haul location, on purpose. I was never notified that the truck had broken down and the girl at the front desk at that U-Haul office told me that she had notified the main office about the truck that morning so they could call me and let me know. Nobody ever got in touch with me or even tried. I could only hire the movers for one day. I was only able to move half of my belongings in that truck and could not pay the movers to do a second run. I dear for had to rent another truck and pay people I knew to move the rest of my things the next day. It cost me over $500 because you did not have the size truck I was promised and did not let me know in time to go to another location how to correct size truck. I am even thinking of filing with the Better Business Bureau and taking this to court.

I had my original appointment at the north bridge location I went there and the representative was not there. I was unable to get my truck and was held up an hour trying to locate and get a new one. I had to pay the movers and extra hour to sit around and wait. This cost me an extra $50. I expect to be compensated by uhal. Icoukd not reach a corporate representative at the time. This was Friday the 11th of August.My reservation was for 11am I arrived and I was told the person who handles that did not come in. This was a shock to me and threw off my entire day.

The truck broke down on us during out trip and it leaked causing damage to some of our items. I doubt this was due to the location and more to the poor maintenance of the truck.

Location was fine . Problem with online/mobile check in and pick up. The application would not let me complete self pickup. Instead of saving time, I had to wait for clerk to come back from her lunch break (about 30 min.) To basically re do the complete rental process in the store.

ASHLEY RIVER SELF STORAGE and CHEAP WAY #10 did an excellent job. U-Haul corporate traffic department caused me inconvenience by not properly setting up the rental requiring me to go to two different locations to get the truck and trailer.

I made an online reservation almost 3 weeks before I needed a 15' truck. I chose a location close to the apartment we were moving. My confirmation email had this particular location listed. I received another email the day before from the same location but saying they had a 20' truck for me to pick up. The next day I tried to talk with them re: a 20' truck was way too big- they said their 15' truck was broken. Didn't seem concerned; said "I guess you could call the 1-800 #." After getting disconnected and then being on hold for 20 mins., the representative said we have your reservation scheduled, but the address he gave me was entirely different from any correspondence which had been sent to me. He made it sound like this had always been the reserved pickup location- which it was not. All this turmoil was happening 2 hrs before the movers were suppose to arrive.

I had requested King Street as the pickup location. Four days prior, I was notified that equipment I ordered (26' van) was not available at King St. Two days prior, I was contacted and advised my new pickup location was the Ashley River Rd location. I had requested an 8:30 pickup. When I arrived at Ashley Rd, I was told equipment wasn't rented until 9 a.m. but the staff was very accommodating and provided the truck along with packing supplies. The equipment was neat and in good order. I did not encounter any problems on the trip from Charleston to Atlanta.

The truck I received needed new wiper blades. They smeared and chattered on the windshield when used. Otherwise the truck was very clean and the person that helped me was very polite. They explained best practices while using the truck and gave me useful tips to complete my journey.
