Hello, I requested a 10' truck for the Fullerton location since I live a walk away and needed to move down the street. When I got to the Fullerton location I was told the truck was not there and to read my email, it was at Antique to Chic a couple miles away. My fault for not reading the email. I would recommend this be more blatant in the writing since I did not choose this location when booking on the Uhaul website and wouldn't have (until this lesson learned) think to check the location in the email. I ended up being late to my appointment for the 10:30am rental, and got to Antique to Chic at 10:50am. This is when my experience started to sour. When you get to the store front you have to call the rep to have him come and check you in. When the customer representative got to the location, he ended up not having the 10' foot truck at the location for the day and stared at me until I said something. I said I needed to move today (my apartment lease was up) and there were awkward pauses (how was I going to move!?) and i didn't know if he understood my need to move that day. I asked if we should call another Uhaul location or what can we do so I can move out of my apartment? After much thought on the reps part, he said I could use their 15' truck they did have handy. He went to go look for the 15" truck keys, turns out, they did not have the 15' foot truck keys and they were nowhere to be found. The truck was there, but no keys to drive it, so he needed to wait until the person that left the keys got to the location. After waiting at the location for over an hour, I was told to go home and they'll have it ready for me at 1pm. I then had to uber back home (more out of pocket costs) and wait for them to call me. When they called the truck was ready, around 12:30am (two hours after my requested rental time) I had to go back to the location and start my process again This led to my friends that lived down the street put their days on hold due to this long-winded uhaul conundrum. When I got the 15' foot truck att 12:30am I was to get everything completed and have it back by 2:30pm. The rep said he'd send me a receipt. Lo and behold when I got home and checked my receipt, the rep charged me for additional fees. The 15' truck was NOT what I originally booked. The SafeMove fee was NOT what I originally booked. What's more is I had to spend $11 dollars on ubers to get the location multiple times since the Fullerton location was full and the Antique shop had to send me home via uber since the truck wasn't ready. This was a ridiculous day and i can't believe I was upcharged for Uhaul's fault. I have called customer service and was told a manager will contact me in 3 days about this. I will be calling in in 3 days if I don't hear back. I would hope Uhaul would be accountable for their mistake and not upcharge me for additional fees i did not request.

Picked up a U-Haul from here and found an entire room’s worth of furniture inside when we went to load it. When we brought it back the guys working didn’t give us a new truck. Instead they unloaded all the furniture. I overheard his wife say ‘is this going to happen every time’ to him. Then once we returned it he charged us for more than 3 times the amount of miles driven. And receiving a refund has been a nightmare.

Please help!! I owed $121 on my rental and he told me if I paid him $90 upfront, that in 2 weeks he would automatically take the extra $30 from the card on the account. This never happened and I was forced to pay $150 in late fees and remaining balance. I called him and he said this shouldn't have happened and he'd get back to me. He has since not answered his phone over 7 hours later. I called multiple times in between and he didn't answer. Please help!

When I went to pick up, I felt very uncomfortable. I believe the person at this location was on something. Also he told us the truck was clean in the back. He left a table that we had to throw out ourselves. My experience with this location was very poorly.

The man who issued me the U-Haul tricked me into purchasing insurance coverage for my truck — he told me it was required because I was traveling to a different state (which is false) and did not inform me he charged me for the coverage until AFTER swiping my card. I contacted U-Haul customer service about this and they issued me a refund. The man also told me I only needed to return the vehicle with 3/4 of a tank of gas (which is what was in it upon pick-up). Upon returning the U-Haul, I was informed he had altered the amount of gas at pick-up to a full tank (again, false). The person who informed me this was great and did not make me turn around and put more gas in.

Someone needs to get back to me because I have been trying to fix our bill for a week now. I sent 2 emails and also called customer service only to be told they would get back to me in 2 days. We drove back and forth in semi clos neighborhoods in Chicago only twice, never exceeding even 50 miles, maximum. That’s an overestimate, and we were charged for 165 miles. We were also charged for a whole day using the truck, stating that we turned it in late. Even though we turned it in at the time we were supposed to, but nobody was there so we just dropped the keys off in the drop box. We also filled it back up to 3/8 tank, which is what we were told, but then were still charged for gas. This whole thing is ridiculous, and I have been charged way more than what I actually used.

My pick up time was 9am, I called at 9:10am and he was getting coffee. A hour later I got the keys. Said it would be longer then the 4 hrs that I previously asked for and he replied just call me if it goes over. I did call and left a vm, dropped off the truck and was billed $56.00 bc it was late.

Their credit card system was down or simply couldn’t be figured out when I showed up for the rental on time. Because of this, I had to go get a $60 cash deposit for which they also did not have change, which ate heavily into my 4-hr slot. My quoted amount was $66.84 for the slot with my mileage estimate, which I ended up using about half of. Because of the delays, I needed the truck for a bit longer than the 4-hr slot with which there was no leeway and the vendor explained to me that I would be charged for a further time slot, which ostensibly would be the $35-$40 rental rate. That being said, at the end of the day and already having my $60 cash deposit, this location charged the initially quoted $66.84 and a further $183.43 out of nowhere. When I called the vendor, he explained that he is out of town and “will take a look at it when he gets back.” I’ve filed a dispute for the charges with my bank, but if there’s anything U-Haul can do to refund me these charges it’d be much appreciated. Also the cabin of the truck smelled awful and absolutely needs cleaned.

When I got to the location, I found an antique store and panicked. After looking around, I found a U Haul sign in the window. But then I saw they didn't open until 11AM, and my pick-up time was for 9:30 AM. I don't have a cell phone, and there's no such things as pay phones anymore, so I panicked again. So I decided to drive all the way back home to call U Haul. As I was walking away, I happened to look back, and saw someone entering the store. So I went back and found it was the manager, and he took care of me.

The owner of the location was late to open the shop which delayed our move. He then gave us the rest of the day to have the truck since he was late giving us the truck. Then, he texted me and told us we needed to return the truck early in the next hour. We then received a call from uhaul telling us our return was late and there was no record that the time was extended due to picking it up late and we needed to return it immediately. I would not recommend this location or using uhaul again for a move.

Make sure the employees at this location know exactly how to use the U-Haul car rental website and the step-by-step to renting out trucks. The employee was not really told what to do, but he was still very kind and patient and apologized profusely. I would definitely use this location again because it was super close to my house and the employee was very nice.

I realize all of Uhaul was experiencing technical problems this day, but my scheduled pick up was at 8am. The guy didnt show up until 11am!!! 3 hours late. That is unacceptable. Then, he had to write down all my information and said he would email a receipt. Never did. When I booked this truck I booked online for $120, and did $14 insurance. Yet, I am getting charged $154? To top it off, the interior of the truck smelled awful and was completely dirty. Same with the back of the truck.

Have the vehicle at the location asked and if you can't let them know prior to pick up. Especially if the reserve atleast a week in advance, I had to go way out of the way to pick-up.

That’s the only thing I had a problem with the place was supposed to close at six and by 4 o’clock when I got there it was close .
