I contacted the attendant on 11/21/17 to let him know that I was charged $150 for CDW even though I had declined it when I rented the U-Haul van. The attendant said that I will be refunded this amount.

I requested two dozen blankets in my online order. The order came back complete. I show up the day of pickup and the attendant is 15 minutes late opening the store and then advises me that there are no blankets. So now I am making a move without blankets. He offered that I could go to Chantilly to pick up blankets, which is quite a ways out of my route. Unsat.

Well, for one when you say your store closes at 5 PM you don’t leave at 4 PM and not tell the customer. I reserved a van at 4:30 PM and SPOKE TO THE OWNER ON THE PHONE! But I arrived at 4:15pm to a closed business void of any help. I had to call the corporate phone number and speak to five or six different people during the process of filing a complaint and being out on hold and transferred multiple times. By the way, whenever they transfer you you have to explain yourself over someone new. When that happens four, five, six times it gets pretty freaking aggravating when the next person has no idea who you are or why you’re calling and you start over again. I finally figured out how to do the self check out. That process in and of itself is a terrible thing to put someone through. Not only did I have to go into my phone’s security settings and change them to use the app for location services and verification purposes and camera, I also had to verify my identity several times through the app because of its bad coordination with Gmail. After ONE HOUR I had the key to my van in my hand. NOT ONLY was I unable to get the van I ordered by the time it was promised (because the manager and owner of this location left an hour before the posted closing time) but I was NOT ABLE to meet my obligation to someone else who depended on me to be there by 5 PM. I was therefore NOT ABLE to complete a sale transaction and the buyer left. Which cost me $500 in lost potential revenue as well as $6.90 for the Lyft ride that I took to get to the U-Haul place as well as lost time and painful aggravation. I also spent >$40 for the van and have NOTHING to show for it. I will never recommend this location to anybody and will encourage them to rent from Penske, or the trucks & vans from Home Depot, or from Ryder. Essentially, any place else. Also, what is the van clean? Sure inside the cabin where I sat. But the back of the van wasn’t clean and the internal exit handle to the rear van door was broken. So overall a really awful experience. The app is hard to use and this establishment has no integrity. Basically. In a nutshell. Will they reimburse all the losses I suffered today? No, of course not. Will they blame the broken door on me? They may try. Will anyone with any authority call me or respond to my complaint? - I doubt it.

I really appreciated the friendly welcome after a long journey. Was met as I got out of the truck and told exactly what to do/expect. Great experience and an even better example of what customer service should look like.

When picking up my 20' truck, the actual truck number was not yet returned in their system, so I was checked out in a different truck and told it would be fixed later that day. When I went to return the truck in a different location, I had great difficulty because the truck number was never changed.

No convenient place to park when picking up rental.



We informed them that Broad St gave 3 days to return and they indicated that they did not care we only would get 2 days plus we did not get price match of 20% (Budget) although we should the proof to Broad St and it was never an issue. Not Happy!!!!!
