I returned truck 15 minutes before closing which may have been the problem. However if you're open till 5pm, then work till 5pm. The young woman I gave the keys to didn't want to check the truck and equipment. I found out the following day when I received an emailed invoice for $115, that my truck wasn't checked in until 7:00am the following day and I was charged for 3 dozen missing furniture pads; all of which were not only returned by me but neatly folded. I tried e-mailing the contact on the invoice but no response; finally after another couple days, I called and finally spoke to Al, I believe presumed owner/mgr who was helpful and agreed a mistake was made and I should be credited. Unfortunately; he can't do it; must call 800-GO-Uhaul since 24hrs had past. So one week later and 2 calls placed by me; they credited the wrong amount. How they got the number is beyond me seems like it was mis-keyed. Called again and believe it was resolved; rep seemed interested in doing it correctly. We'll see if the new credits come thru and are correct. All-in-all a ridiculous waste of time and in-sincere apologies from corporate cust svc. phone agents to deal with something that should've never happened. I was also charged $1.08 for 2.7 extra miles on the e-mailed invoice. So read the fine print; they "estimate" the number of miles from the start/end zip code you enter when purchasing not your exact route. I don't mind paying for usage; but this seems kinda petty. My trip involved about a 9 mile detour to pickup an item otherwise a direct route from pickup store to my house to new house to dropoff store. You may want to get a google maps estimate of your route and make sure you buy enough miles. It's also interesting that while UHaul online upsells optional services, which I bought (Moving Help), this review process doesn't incorporate those services. So I'll comment anyway since MovingHelp.com customer service is ABYSSMAL! Confusing web-site interaction; unbelievably long hold times (>1hr) and terrible chat support (couldn't help). 2 of the 3 movers I chose were actually good; decent communication and good help.

There should have been a notice that a 6x12' trailer should not be returned to an unmanned location. When I saw 24 hour return I had NO IDEA there would be no one to help me nor a jack or dolly to use to disengage such a bevy trailer. After an 8 hour drive and unloading into a storage unit... I DID NOT NEED THIS!

This has been the worst uhaul experience possible and made my move much more stressful than it should have. To start my auto-transport was not available the day of pick up so I then had to pick up at a different location. Upon arrival to pick up the next day I was informed Dillon Road pickup should not have charged me for the auto transport on the first contract so they had to charge me again an refund at this location to pick up. After they hooked up the auto transport to my uhaul they then realized when showing me how to release the wheel cover for loading the car that it was bent and had to yank it down and then was trying to kick it shut. I am a female and was going to be traveling alone and informed them that I would never be able to close that myself. Instead of providing me with a different one they had available they tried hammering it so it was easier to close but was still difficult so I had to hire help to load my car. After preparing to leave for my move then we notice the break lights were not functioning and had to go from several hardware stores to find the proper cord to get the lights working forcing me to pay out of pocket due to no locations open to switch transports. The cord worked for the first few hours then no longer had breaks or turning blinkers which put my safety on busy highways at risk. Once I made it to Dallas I requested roadside assistance because the key would no longer come out of the truck ignition and the truck had blown a fuse. with my complete frustration at this point I returned the auto transport and drove my car behind the truck the remainder of the way. I have reach out to customer service via email requesting compensation and have received nothing. I will never rent from uhail again.
Make sure the tie downs in trailer are not broken.

Check engine light was on, vehicle wouldn’t start at first. Before all of this, however, I requested and got confirmation on a bigger truck at this location. The day before I was supposed to pick up the truck, I was told they did not have the size truck I needed it a larger one for the same price. I had to get a much smaller truck and the work I was doing ended up taking longer. Now I have to rent a truck again for next week because I was not able to get all my items moved.

I took the trailer back at about 8:30 am and needed to drop it off due to other commitments at 9:00 am. To my surprise, I found that this location did not open until 9:00 am. I called an emergency number and was given a code to get inside the gate so that I could drop the trailer off. Here again, I was required to do the job entirely of disconnecting the trailer. Poor service or no service at either location.
