The van itself was in great condition. The "24/7 truck share" service was very frustrating. There is some added convenience, but it was not worth the hassle and stress of all the added online steps. Checking out was not ideal, but went smoothly enough. The return was a nightmare. I followed all the prompts for the return, but was not given the code to return the key to the van mounted lock box where I had accessed the key when I checked out. I retraced my steps on the website, but was not given an option to view the order again. I called customer service and was bounced around a few times. I called back and was ultimately on the phone for 30 minutes while 4 different people passed me off and didn't know a very simple step in what must be a common return procedure. I won't use the service again.

This was the worst experience I ever had. I was contemplating UHaul over Penske and would definitely recccomend that over UHaul. The day beginning with app complications which was frustrating because the 24/7 truck share is suppose to remove frustrating. UHaul needs to consider a better app format and have a customer service representative specifically available for those renting 24/7 truck share. After a full day of moving, I returned the truck and the app failed to show me the lock box code and canceled out of the truck rental page after “updating account” was present on the screen for 2 minutes. I then was on the phone waiting for a representative for 20 minutes until I was able to get a hold of somebody who then transferred me causing me to wait for 15 more minutes until the other end went dead. Poor service and poor company.

Mobile check out was a nightmare

This was a 24/7 self-service rental. At this location, returning the vehicle required me to return the key to the lockbox on the side of the truck. The app did not provide the code needed to unlock the box and return the key. This was frustrating and required a call to customer service. Thankfully the customer service rep who answered the call was able to help very quickly and it was only a small issue. This rental would have been seamless if the app had provided the lockbox code during the return process.

The most complicated and frustrating process ever, The Uhaul mobile app is horrible, and so is their customer service. What a confusing and stupid process. I will never rent from this again.
