My fiance and I have used U-Haul to move before. On that occasion, the time and pickup of our truck was changed substantially. Since we were moving from Richmond to Coquitlam, I decided not to stress about it even though it meant the difference in having help to move and not having help at all. We put that experience behind us and opted to use your company again to relocate from Coquitlam to Nanaimo. I could not have imagined a worse experience. On August 9, 2018, my fiance ordered a 20 foot truck for 7 am pick up at the Barnet Highway location in Coquitlam for Saturday, September 15. We were told this was confirmed and everything was good to go. On Thursday, September 13, my fiance received a notification that he could confirm everything again. When he did so, he was informed that the truck would be available at 4 pm on Saturday. It was supposed to be ready at 7 am so he assumed there had been an error and called to let you know. He was told that no, it wouldn't be ready until 4 pm and that there was no error - they simply changed the time. My fiance was coming over Friday night (as we were already moved to the Island minus our belongings), picking up the truck and packing everything up to make a 1 pm ferry reservation. Your employee made a snarky remark about how he would have to change ferry times. At no point did anyone notify us of the change - we only found out because he went to check in through your online system and inquired about the time being wrong. He was then put through to the scheduling department at which points he was told there may be a 20 foot truck available at another location that may or may not be in the Lower Mainland and a time could not be guaranteed. He called back on Friday morning and was told he could pick up a 20 foot truck in Surrey but not until 8:30 am. We tried to remain positive, thankful something had worked out. My fiance and his father went to the Surrey location to get truck and found it was only a 17 foot truck instead of the 20 foot truck we had booked. Again, we tried to make the best of it but unfortunately, could not fit all of our belongings into the truck and were forced to leave items behind. At the end of it all, we were forced to pay the same price and were not offered an apology or any compensation or discount for a smaller truck. That is, we were charged for a 20 foot truck despite only receiving a 17 foot truck that forced us to leave belongings behind. We gave U-Haul the benefit of the doubt after a bad experience with our first move. The experience this time around is absolutely inexcusable. I have never received such horrible customer service and the fact that no compensation was made and we were forced to pay for a truck we did not even get leaves me completely appalled. My fiance works in the service industry - we know shit happens but you put the customer first and you do your best to give them a positive experience. Absolutely nothing was done for us. Mov

My husband and I tried this location for the first time our experience was truly exceptional the gentleman who attended he said he was the manager was so curtious and very helpful we got charged exactly what we got quoted I was very impressed with the way very knowledgeable and upfront , we constantly rent trucks and he has won us over we will definitely rent at this location again .

First, service was quick and friendly. That was great, but location is challenging to find. I was not happy with the dirty windshield which is very hard to clean at the gas station, along with the windshield washer was empty. If these two items were taken care of, then i would rate this very good over all. But service was fast and friendly.

My first call to a 1-800 # was in the states and we were almost finished when The call was lost. It wasnt that easy finding the local number, so much on internet these days. Once I contacted Brideview all was smooth and great customer service.

Provide a hand truck (dolly) that can be used for hauling boxes. The ones that can be rented are too heavy duty for just a box move, and depending on the client are really difficult to use. They appear to be designed for moving appliances, so aren't really as useful in the simple move where no appliances are involved.

Everything was excellent except when it came down to charging rate. When i called to book the truck i was told i will be charged $20 plus .59 cents per kilometre but when I returned the truck i was charged @.89 cent per kilometre. I told the staff member but he said he is helpless and cant help me with that, he gave me different no to call and speak to someone there which i will in a day or two. Other than that everything was top notch. Thank you for that.
