I used the car trailer for less than 24 hours, but I paid $416 (includes tax and insurance) and "allowed to keep it 3 days". There should be a rate for one day usage. My gripe is with UHaul, not either of the two UHaul facilities

I reserved a dolly for 8 am, Nov. 5. When I arrived the rental agent said "she had no one to connect the unit to my truck until 12 noon, and it was raining." I called a few hours after we finally got things underway to inquiry of the cost to convert the local rental into a one way rental. She said the cost would be $372.00. They had to add a punishment cost for changing my mind. When I returned the dolly on time, I concluded a peaceful transition by say, "I wish God would forgive her bigotry." The facility was closed at the time of pick-up so there were no issues with that. However, I had significant problems dealing the company overall. I tried to use the self-checkout app but, it would not work. It kept giving an error message of, "We can't fetch your information at this time. Try back in a few moments." I waited for 30 minutes for the app to work but, it wouldn't. I had to return home to get my laptop and checkout that way. Once on the site, I couldn't process the reservation. I used the online chat customer service option and the rep instructed me that I had to adjust the timeline (which would not have been a problem if the app was working). All-in-all, the checkout process took over an hour and a half. Then, I looked to see if the dolly I had reserved was with the truck, and it was not. Because the site was not manned, I had to call customer service. I reached a representative twice and was hung-up on while on hold each time. With the combined hold and talk time, I was on the phone for over 45 minutes and was provided with no solutions; only more problems. Again, I reverted back to the online chat help tool. The rep told me that she could not address equipment issues and gave me the exact same Customer Service number on which I was disconnected twice. I explained this problem and she was then willing to help. After some time, she was able to reserve another dolly from a location in Woodbridge, VA. When I arrived at the new site and told them about the reservation, the clerks informed me that they did not actually have a dolly available. They also said that they explained this to the Customer Service agent who contacted them but, I was nevertheless given misinformation once again. The manager at the store was nice enough to offer me a larger dolly. What was supposed to be a 10-15 minute checkout process took over four hours! At just about every step, there was a serious problem that took a ridiculous amount of effort and coordination to correct. I spent nearly $150 to have terrible service and be put four hours behind my planned schedule which ruined the entire intention of the day. As for the rental truck itself, the breaks were bad and would jerk the vehicle. I wrote an email to Customer Service about the issue and was never given a response. I will never use U-Haul again if it can be avoided. I can accept problems (they're inevitable) but will not stand for this level of incompetence and disregard to it. Horrible service and major unprofessionalism.

Explain why customer drives 5 miles past nearest U-Haul (Potomac Mills Woodbridge) to Triangle for 10' box truck then 5 miles back past nearest U-Haul that had four 10' box trucks out front!
