I did not have all the equipment I paid for. The dolly, which would of helped a lot. My moving was much more time consuming. I mentioned it to via text conversation with the women who checked me in, she dismissed me.

Honestly, I'm upset with the customer service, particularly Marius. He messed up on two issues. 1. When Marius asked me to book the reservation, he asked for my credit card number, so I assumed it would be charged on my credit card. When my warehouse guy went to pick up the truck, they required a credit card in person. my warehouse guy did not have my credit card with him, so he had to use his debit card. he spent more money than what he had in his bank account, so he had to pay an overdraft fee to his bank. He was in a rush so he had to use his personal credit card. If Marius would've told me from the beginning that we needed my card in person, we would've saved $40 in overdraft fees as well as my warehouse employee being very upset for the day. 2. Marius told me that if we need to pay more than the initial payment then I can pay the difference. Sure enough, I pulled up to pay the difference, and the worker there told me that I cannot pay the difference. Either my warehouse worker needs to pay the difference, or we need to cancel my warehouse worker's original payment and then place the full payment on my credit card. My warehouse guy ended up paying the difference (at this point he was able to put more money in his bank account). The issue is that Marius wasted 45 minutes of my time because I did not even have to drive out there. Honestly, the guy needs to be more clear with what he states and he needs to understand more about his job. It should've been a much easier process, he made it much harder, he pissed off my employee, costed us more money (overdraft fee), and he wasted my time. This is not a reflection on Meineke, but rather Marius. I'm not asking for any compensation, and I'm not reccommending that you fire Marius. I'm a businessman, I just want to give you constructive criticism. Feel free to call me at 248-343-5499. Thank you

Have a way to cancel reservations on your website. I had a previous pick up date for 9-10-18 and was able to rent yesterday. The order # from yesterday was a new number and the old # did not cancel out. I had to do online chat to get it cancelled. There was no way to just cancel on your website that I could find.

The man behind the counter that I picked the vehicle up from was rather rude. This was not the location I had selected for pickup yet I was never called and told where to go or to have my reservation confirmed. Almost none of the information provided to me when I booked the truck turned out to be true. The cost was higher, the mileage allowed was less, and the amount of time I had with the truck was less. I The website said I had 122 miles and 2 days with the truck. I used 116 miles and got charged for going 22 miles over. When I picked the truck up I was told I had until 8am the next day to return it. A lot of undue stress caused by poor communication.

There were problems checking in using the mobile app. While I was assigned a van during the process of checking in, the counter rep was able to assign the same van to another customer through the desktop application. After completing my mobile app checkin, I was given the keys to a different van. I brought this to the attention of the rep and she had to void my original transaction, refund my credit card, and then go through the registration process again for a different van. It was determined that the mobile app and the desktop app do not communicate with each other, which is why two customers were able to book the same van and complete the transaction. Check out for me took approximately 45 minutes, which was frustrating.

The location changed the rental agreement to a different price when I picked up the truck, but the higher price included 100 miles and lowered the cost of additional miles. It ended up being slightly cheaper or even the same price this way. In the end it was OK, but caused some confusion when we were going over the receipt. Additionally the truck smelled awful. Previous renters must have been heavy smokers. A mix of smoke and rotten food. I febreezed the hell out of the truck. It only helped a little. Maybe a policy about no smoking? Or charging extra to smokers and pigs. Other than that - it went very well. Will rent again, as we have 2, and soon to be 4 in college. Lots of moving every year.

Best place to rent a truck or trailer



Pick-up was super easy. The customer service person was absolutely wonderful. She made sure we had exactly what we needed and was very friendly. Great experience at the store. The truck did what it needed to. It was very clean, but it was definitely showing it’s age. Lots of squeaks, rattles, and even some shudders. Brakes and steering left a little to be desired in terms of feeling safe and providing confidence in the truck. I never want to move again, but overall this experience with U-haul was great, even with the well-maintained, yet OLD equipment. I will definitely look to U-Haul first if I ever need to move again.

I cannot rate the drop off location. I only parked the truck in the lot and dropped the keys after hours. The parking lot is small.

The U-Haul was dirty and smelled like there was livestock transported in the van before it was given to us. Location I requested was not the location the van was available. It was 20 mins out of the way and we passed several U-Haul rental locations to get to this one. We were disappointed.

No room to leave rented truck and trailer. When we were finished the transaction, an employee trapped our family behind a vehicle and when we asked him to please move the car, he refused. There is only one way out and when I got angry at this exceptionally bad customer service, he approached me threateningly with open aggression. I am a small, older woman. My husband quickly came to stand in front of me. I can honestly say, I have never experienced worse customer service. I am utterly appalled that this occurred after spending close to $1000 with UHaul on our international move. Disgusted.

The woman that processed my rental was super friendly and positive even though she said she was working with a smaller staff than usual that day. The location seemed like they were a little behind the morning I came to pick up my rental, but she was apologetic and worked as quickly as possible to make it a good experience.

The owner was extremely rude and short. We are a nonprofit told him about it and he states that has nothing to do with me I received the order I fill it...Then my husband left his license and credit card and after several calls around as all U-Haul calls are routed to customer service we got a hold of the owner and he said yeah I have your stuff I didn’t call because I knew you had to come back with the truck...WHAT!! Are you kidding me who treats customers like that we had no license nor credit card...I will not be returning and will let others know not to patronize this business ??
