Brent J | First ImpressionsHello, August 24th, 2025 Pick up - August 20th - Sooke , BC - Drop off - August 23rd Edmonton, Alberta To whom it concerns with U-Haul Canada, managers its staff and employees. I’d like to make a formal complaint , and report. Our vehicle was dysfunctional and dangerous. It put our lives at risk and was failing to perform. We did our best as it was all we had through the mountains from Victoria Vancouver Island to Alberta. I had my young daughter with me and our family pet. It was the most horrible experience of my life as we made a move. The personal didn’t have availability after booking in Victoria , I ended up having to drive “SOOKE BC” (50K there and 50K to my home for pick up and loading. due to lack of availability. The power went out as we were in the Roger’s Pass and the lights power was at a complete loss. We almost died. Thank god my driving skills and natural ability to act in an emergency saved us. My daughter is traumatized, this uhaul experience was like no other. In Pick up: The attendants mentioned -nothing- about dropping the ramp or explained my tow situation for the haul of my small car. I had to figure everything out on my own. I asked , he told me to “go out on the grass and figure it out, just don’t do a tire burnout”. I was floored. I worked the chainsaw myself and fastened the tire straps. I’m thankful I’m proactive , so I found up a video on my phone to see how to help us for safety. I used the instructions and information for our entire life and belongings. I ensured the steps around the tires made sense and were completely secure. I did my best and made it through all the vehicle and the employees along the way and made it to our destination in one piece. The vehicle needs immediate service- don’t let anyone risk their life or go through three days of driving and towing with these circumstances. There is friendly staff at the Edmonton location for drop off. I explained these circumstances and they helped. I will ensure to expose this infraction. I will never , boom or promote Uhaul and its services , equipment again and ensure the nation knows of what happened to me. There needs to be someone to take responsibility for my daughter and I , so please understand and let’s take the steps and do the work to move forward as best we can considering everyone’s safety and overall wellbeing when making huge life improvements. I’m truly worried for my lifetime of items I’ve stored in your facility. There is a smashed window to its “secure” enclosure and people are living in the bins. I’m worried about the safety. I need help with accountability, to ensure my items stored are safe and affordable. I am happy to do whatever we need to ensure this will be a good experience moving forwards. Rickey B | First ImpressionsLots of bugs, mold, water, leaking, and horrible customer service I’ve been paying for months. Staff are very inexperienced. They verbally attack you and they will not provide a phone number for customer service or head office or any kind of help. They will charge you for something that is not fit And then they will kick you out.

Karina B | First ImpressionsWhen I came to pay my bill, ppl were lined up to the door. Not enough employees there. Really bad customer service. I paid the extra 10 for being late on the phone. I went there and your lock was still on. It was closing but a person was in the office and couldn't go unlock my storage for me. Only one way to get to the backside and there's always ppl blocking the road with uhaul vans. Blue bird storage was waaaay better. ppl at uhaul are in experienced there.
Kevin N | Overall ExperienceAlthough the area was clean, well lit and overall nice, there was an overarching feeling of it being unsafe. Members of the transient population went in and out and the doors never fully closed, although they were supposed to. On 2 separate occasions we went in a bit later in the day and saw people sneaking in, without any access card or code. Also, there were rarely any carts available to use.
Mickel H | Overall ExperienceTook over 2 hours to get my storage unit. Every time I come here this location is under staffed & disorganized. More people are needed to properly serve customers. I don’t know how those people work there with no support from the company.

ALEXANDER T | Overall ExperienceThe only concern I have is when non-members walk in behind you when the door is open and they go into the facility and there’s no security personnel there to prevent or to talk to.

We moved out of the unit 2 days after our renewal date and when I asked about a partial refund, I was told to email the manager Sara Gamblin, which I did. No response from her. After a week I sent a follow up email and again, no response. That customer service was disappointing.

Borysa S | Overall ExperienceGreat competitive price! Monthly fees are every 30 days! Not like Sentinel which charges every 25 days only! Open 24/7 for access to unit! Not like Sentinel which locks access to unit at 11:pm nightly!
