This vehicle had not been serviced in a very long time. The oil when I checked it had the consistency of mud, the inside of the windshield had a haze and made it dangerous to see through when the sun hit it. The transmission didn't seem right and gave off a smell every once in a while.Craig S.
No drop box or at least not easy to find for off hours drop. The return app did not work as expected and I was unable to submit the return subsequently costing me an additional $20 for Uhaul's technical issue. I also felt I needed to cll and used the call back feature. After 48 minutes, the call back put me back into another 50 minute hold.Andrew S.

The trailer was picked up by my brother. Inside the office/ lobby of the Ausable Forks location the owner had a little statue of a person in a white hood that said KKK on it. I called the owner and he could have cared less. I called uhaul to make a complaint and spoke to an agent who gave me a reference number regarding my complaint and told me I would be contacted by someone who would address this issue. I have not heard from anyone at uhaul. I'm sure uhaul doesn't share the same racist beliefs of the owner of the Ausable forks location, but to not call or email me regarding this issue is disheartening to say the least. I will no longer support this business and will do my best to spread this information far and wide. It saddens me that people are so ignorant. Hopefully the Ausable forks owner will one day realize his ignorance and change, but... not likely.Christopher B.

The complete uhaul experience was awful. Our reservation was changed multiple times without a lot of notice. We were promised a discount for the inconvenience and then still charged full price at the uhaul location. The Uhaul location in Ausable was so unorganized. It took over an hour to pick up the uhaul because their system wasn't working and they had no clue what they were doing. I will never use uhaul again.Jarrod W.

While trying to rent a 26' truck, dealing with UHaul direct said the closest I could get it was Plattsburgh, NY. When I inquired with Ausable Motors, they said they could do it. That saved me 80 miles!! Ausable Motors gave great service!Rob G.

Nothing U-Haul can do. The vendor is in the process of consolidating his operations so future customers won't have to complete the paperwork at one location and pick up the vehicle at another location miles away.Ted M.

In Au Sable, NY we reserved a u-haul. There were dentures & vasaline left in the glove compartment which we found after we left. When I paid for the uhaul, I paid $70 over and he didn't give me change back. We reserved a 15foot & they gave us a 10foot, we didn't realize this until we got off the lot and opened the back. Our original location didn't have a 15 foot available so we had to go 25 miles out of town to get the one we reserved and to not have that one and take more money is ridiculous, I won't suggest to any of my friends to go there.Wesley L.

This is the wrong address for uhaul equipment returns. According to a person we met they are supposed to go to another location - needs to be updated as was confusing not to find anything related to uhaul. They did allow us to leave the truck and so no complaints about the staff but the address needs to be updated in uhaul recordsMARK B.

Never ever would I recommend this location ever. We were supposed to pick our truck up in Lake placid, NY and were told our truck broke down and had to drive to Ausable Fort almost 40miles out of are way where we had to wait for the owner Roy for over a half hour longer and then had to pay cash $271.00 and was given a filthy truck and was told we shouldn't turn it down because it was the only one in the North Country and we should be grateful. the person who would give me the truck was out golfing. Mr. Roy...I had the guys there (4 of them) make a call to him saying I was there to pick it up ( they had a reservation and pick up time of 3 - got there after a 2 hour drive at 3:15) he told them he would be back in 45 to hour..unacceptable..called and the rep at uhaul authoriazed me to take possion so I never had any paper work from the loacation..uhaul emaile it to me so I could beging my journey - your help on the 800 line was fantastic - one of the guys came out of the shop and just handed me the key and did not say one single word.TIM M.

U-haul completely ruined my entire move. I was advised in the email that I could pick up my truck at the "...closest convenient location." Convenient for whom?!? I had to travel 40 minutes just to pick up the truck when there was a place 5 miles away that I could have picked it up at. The operators were rude on the 1-800 phone number and needless to say, that pick up site set me back 3 hours behind schedule because it didn't open until 9am and the ONLY person working there was out on a tow truck call. My being so late ended up with me not able to move into my new place until the following day due to this 'convenience.' I had to stay in a furnished apartment for the night and then had to find someone else to help me with moving the following day. I am highly unsatisfied with U-haul and I will NEVER use this company again. I will also be sure to let all of my friends and family know about this situation and provide all of my social media sites with the incredibly poor quality of this company. Waste of my time and a huge waste of money!!!JENNIFER H.

I had planned to tow a car behind and had to cancel that service. Despite this, the representative did not show me how to disable the towing switch, which came on automatically when I started the truck, so I drove 1900 miles with the towing enabled, which made for rough driving and poor gas mileage.Michael S.

Roy was very helpful and personable. However, the truck inside needed sweeping. The blankets were filthy dirty and were not folded - just thrown in a big pile on the floor of the truck. I reserved 36 blankets but they only had 26. I reserved 2 hand trucks but they only had one. I had to drive to another location to pick up the remaining 10 blankets and the second hand truck. The second location had all the blankets clean, neatly folded and bagged.EVERTON H.

We did not receive a contract and the manager was rude to us. He refused to look up the credit card number that belonged to my mother, even though the U-Haul corporate office that called the day before assured me that we did not need to bring her card with us. It was inconvenient enough that the location was changed from our original reservation. we didn't need the manager giving us more difficulties. Also, the truck was in poor shape. The driver side window was not sealed properly and made a loud whistle and also the entire truck shook a great deal.JACQUELINE P.
