I reserved a 26-foot van, and the remnants of Hurricane Ian hit us the day I was to pick it up, knocking out electrical power to the U-Haul dealer. When I arrived to pick it up, the dealer was closed, but when I called the dealer's number, the owner answered from his home (where he still had power) and advised me that my truck was ready and gave me the code to the lock box to get the keys. This was service above and beyond during very difficult circumstances. Upon returning the truck, it got stuck, but U-Haul had a wrecker out within the hour to get it back on the road and at no additional cost to me. I'm very impressed with U-Haul's customer service and will use U-Haul again.

The only thing I have a complaint about is that we had requested for a closer pick up location (Holly Springs) instead of Apex, and was not notified that location to pick up truck in Apex til the morning of move.

Horrible customer service!!!! Owners of locations rushed me and kept telling me to “Hurry up!”. I asked 4 times to move the other trucks so I could get out. The insisted I could and just left. I was stuck for almost an hour until a random customer can me to help me. I called customer service and asked for a refund. No one has yet to call and follow up or email.

Truck was beat up as hell with claim stickers all over it. The transmission was shit and wouldn't upshift in or out of tow mode. The fucking god damn air conditioning didn't work and it was like 95% outside and it pissed me off so bad.

Had a very hard time understanding the staff. Very rude with how they interacted with customers that came in the store, that wasn't the same cultural background as they were. Store was very dirty and unkept. When I was doing my walk around the trailer I had rented, doing the u-haul pre-check that was sent to me from u-haul documenting any damage on the trailer and the condition of it. The staff at the store got very angry about it and stormed off back into the store.

Did not come out to check the truck and only ask me if the dolly was in there and if the gas was where it was supposed to be when I asked if there would be a refund or anything for bringing it back early I was told no that would be like putting the milk back in the cow. Also I took pictures of my gas before I left Philadelphia and once I returned it to Apex but the attendant never came out to check and I was charged $33 for the fuel. I do have pictures if I need to send them to anyone for proof of where the gas needle was when I returned the truck.

When I went to pick the van up at 6:00 AM. I opened the U-haul app and was told I couldn't get the van until 7:00 when the store opened . Why didn't U-Haul notify me beforehand? I checked in online the night before ? Waited over 15 minutes for a customer service rep explanation. Basically was told location forgot to stage the keys in the lock box. I have used this location before with no problems with the after hours pickup . Waited for an hour in the parking lot . Late for a very important job . A notification would have prevented a lot of headaches

The trailer was ready and waiting and in good condition. They helped hook it up and check lights, etc. They went the extra mile after I returned it and tracked down tie-downs and straps I had forgotten in the trailer when I returned it. Great service.

We rented a minivan and it was very dirty and smelled pet pee and pet hair was everywhere especially on the front passenger seat. I could not even drive with my husband and had to follow him in my car. Same thing for cargo area. It was very dirty.

The uhaul trailer was very, very old and unsafe. It appeared to having a problem with the leaf springs causing the trailer to rock and sway. Had to drive around 40 to 45 mph to reduce sway. This trailer should be removed from service.

The U-Haul rep was not there when I stopped by during the posted hours. I decided to wait. Thirty minutes in, I saw a U-Haul manager who stopped at the market and asked for his help. He graciously delayed his next stop and moved/unhitched the trailer. On day 5, I got a call from the drop off UH guy asking if I wanted to extend my rental even though I had called UH customer service the previous day to make sure my return was complete. It was all resolved but was not a smooth transaction.

Uhaul had very slow follow up and communication with us. Uhaul changed our pickup location twice and the second time they not notify us at all. Not until we arrived at the pickup location we were informed that our trailer was at yet another different location in the next town! We understand the challenges of the current times we are all living with so many people relocating out of state. However, this does not excuse poor follow up and poor customer service from Uhaul. The pickup locations were fine. But the stressful lack of follow up by Uhaul was of poor quality.

Truck was worn out — drove like a log truck. Air conditioning went in and out. Horrible ride. Truck had 104000 miles but drove like it had 204000 miles. Will not be using UHaul again. Equipment is rough. Oh and the brakes were worn out too just saying

This was the first time we used U-Haul supplied movers to help off load our rental truck. Frankly, we were a bit skeptical but after working with Kavaris Evans and Allen Cannady we quickly became believers. These two young men were a joy to work with and what would have taken my wife and I five hours to offload took an hour and a half. I actually had to ask them to take a break as it was over 100 degrees; they were just that dedicated to their work. They were respectful of us and our furniture, and totally professional. We WILL use these two again. We trust them and recommend their services to anyone.

This my second use of this U Haul location. Both times the rental experience was smooth, problem free. The correct truck was available as reserved and the rental agent knew what he was doing. The rental office is “iffy” but functional.

First, make it clear that there is another $60 of fees and charges over what was quoted. That is 20% in additional fees. I will never use U-Haul again because of this! Second, there was damage to the truck that wasn't noted, including a dangling side light and a crack in the windshield.
