The person managing the Uhaul was not present. I had to talk to him or her thought the phone of the store cashier. He or she was not helpful. He or She wanted to have a picture of my credit card and driver license to give me the key of the truck because the Uhaul system was down and they could not verify the reservation even though I show them the confimation email I have. After giving back the key, they took some time to check the truck and the mileage.Quentin F.

Was extremely over charged price was unclear to what I was paying until I received my receipt. Location wasn't clean (donation center and lady didn't have on a mask) and unclear if I was in the right spot. Person taking my information wasn't the person at the location. Lady called a random # who took my personal information. Vehicle was alright...after being in the vehicle I noticed that the windshield wiper stock was broken so I wasn't safe whatsoever ever by the rain that came down today. This location needs to close or completely re-organize the "thrift shop" they've set up to sell all the seized goods from defaulted mini-storage lockers on site. I am frankly surprised they have not been fined/shut down by the fire department for fire code violations. It is hard to even get in the door with the amount of stuff hap-hazardly thrown about. The owner/operator was not present to check me out - I did it by phone. She was professional and helpful: the transaction was ultimately very easy (since I know how to connect a trailer), but only the thrift store cashier was present and she could not help with the U-Haul. The equipment worked fine (all lights, safety gear were present and functional), and the trailer was clean enough, but this seemed more by chance/luck than by intentional effort to maintain the trailer. While the process eventually went smoothly enough, it was not a very confidence-inspiring experience.Andrew B.
I initially scheduled a 9:00am pickup, I missed that time so I waited until they were opened. This seemed to create some confusion about my reservation. Maybe no fault of the people serving me, but they couldn't get timely assistance from corporate to resolve my issues. Once they got clearance they were able to dispatch the truck ðŸšš. I had email confirmation for 9am self pick up. When I arrived to get the truck and checked in on my phone, I was told that I needed to wait until 10am when the store opened to get the truck. Not only did I have to pay the movers for an extra hour of their time, Uhaul charged me for bringing the truck back an hour late, even though they gave it to me an hour late.Sally D.
If you want this store to represent your brand, then you have my answer. This is the most disheveled location. Confirmation was completed over the phone. Ordered dozen blankets which they didn't have. They provided 6 and stated I would not be charged and I was. Need a credit for that. The blankets smelled like gas badly. Audit the store!!!!!Tom K.

The truck I got had trash in it, and a large number of blankets I didn't request. A 36 mile rental cost me 96 dollars plus 10 dollars in gas. When I got back a man ran up to me shouted key! And took the truck and whipped it around the parking lot like a sports car.Robert N.

The rental location, while convenient to our home, was inside a very messy and disorganized thrift shop. The employee was not wearing a mask per NC mandate. We opted for counter pickup but ended up having to download the app anyway because the employee didn't know what to do and had to call her boss (who said the â€œsystem was downâ€). It took well over a half hour to check out the van. The van definitely could have been cleaner. According to the contract, I was asked to fill the tank with more gas than was in it when I arrived. The tank only had 3/4 of a tank but the contract said I needed to return it with 16/17 of a tank. The van itself worked great, was a perfect size, and had no mechanical issues. We would rent a U-Haul van again but not from this location.Christopher M.

I was frustrated with the mobile pick up process. Upon ariving to the location I logged into my account to access the vehicle. The required verification options were frustrating. I would have brought my passport copy if I would have known, it was after hours so I couldnt use my place of work, and the other options were very frustrating. The ladies at Hands 2 Hands were very friendly and helpful. I picked up the truck outside of normal business hours using the uhaul app. That was very convenient but the app is a little buggy and wouldn't let me upload pictures of the truck to dispute the condition of minor pre-existing truck damage. The pictures of the truck when it was last checked in may have shown the damage, but they only show you a thumb nail with no option to enlarge. They were open when I returned the truck. It was a pleasure to be greeted by smiling eyes. The ladies at Hands 2 Hands made checking the truck back in very easy. Great customer service!Daniel W.

I had an utterly terrible experience using the Self Service option to rent a UHaul at Hands 2 Hands in Raleigh, NC. My reservation was for 9AM but since I knew I was doing self-service and had a specified number of hours, I wasn't necessarily in a hurry to get there. When I arrived to pick up the truck, around 9:30AM, I went through the "check-in" process online and was advised there would be a chat feature available while I was being approved. I sent at least two messages through the chat feature that were never responded to. After about 15 minutes, my dad (whom I had listed as the secondary contact/identification verifier) received a phone call. The caller stated they were pushing thru my approval. We waited several more minutes with no approval, so I called back. I spent 57 minutes on the phone with someone who repeatedly said "I'm working on getting this approved, it should not take much longer." After about the 45th minute, I refreshed my screen, looking for the approval and realized the reservation had suddenly been cancelled. While I had been waiting on the phone Hands 2 Hands opened. Several employees and UHaul customers had been in and out of the store. And had MOST CERTAINLY seen me in the parking lot (walking around) and on the phone with UHaul waiting on the approval. Seeing the cancellation, I went into Hands 2 Hands to ask them to hold the truck and was informed that the employee at Hands 2 Hands had cancelled the reservation because I had been more than an hour late, though she never stepped outside to see if the reservation belonged to me. Furthermore, the employee was terribly flippant about the situation. After nearly an hour and a half, and a cancellation, Hands 2 Hands created a new reservation for a different truck for us to use. The process of the Self-Service pick up was a nightmare and the people at Hands 2 Hands were clearly very unappreciative of our business. I would truly appreciate at full refund for the usage of this vehicle.JESSICA C.

The rating is not based on the service at this location, but about the truck. The lady was a nice lady. We got to this location after I had my initial reservation at a location that was oversold and I ended up without a truck. They sent me here, and when we arrived we were advised they too did not have a truck. She said we could get a truck if my husband gave this one truck a booster. I was desperate for a truck, so we agreed. He got the truck running and we took it. The lady at the store said we would have no issues because it was only the battery. Well, we had to give the battery a booster 4xs!!!! We decided that it would be best to drive with two cars, because this truck was going dead. (The car was driven enough do that the battery could have charged initially) This experience was horrible! Not only having to deal with the stress of moving stuff but now having a dead truck that we had to give a boost was even more stressing. I needed to move so I had no choice. But this should not ever happen to any customer. Really bad experience with UHAUL. I deserve a discount or something because it wasn't cheap either. This experience was crazy!Alexza R.

I had a 9 days old reservation for today ( 12 hours long) starting from 10 am. When I went there they told me that they don't have the truck that I reserved- (some system glitch or something ?). After waiting for around 30-40 minutes, they told me that they can give me a truck but I must return that by 6 pm or I will be fined around 80 dollars (as if doing me a big favor- my reservation made very little or no sense apparently) and if I don't take the deal, I can walk away. Now I planned my moving based on the idea (false !) that uhaul is a professional company and they honor their booking, then , right at that moment, standing there, I had to modify my plans and accept their "favor". Until today, I had a good impression about uhaul, I don't have that anymore! Specially about this branch, they did seem hugely unorganized, mediocre level of professionalism and very stressed out. I can feel sympathy about them and would go there if I don't have any other option left on this planet (or galaxy), however, I CAN NOT recommend them to any friend. I honestly hope that uhaul authority will do something to improve their system and organization so that no person who made booking weeks ago relying on uhaul, will have to feel the absolute hopelessness and frustration that I had to feel today. Now I am settled after a hectic moving day, however, I really feel sorry for my 10-11 am self this morning. You guys owe a big apology to that poor guy. Thank you.Tamzid I.
Terrible experience. Poor customer service - I was billed for four days of use when I only used the trailer for 23 hours and returned it. When I called the store and confronted the lady who helped me for pickup and return she called me a liar and said the trailer wasn't returned. The store is a mess and the trailer ball screw was rusty and hard to turn. Terrible experience. I will not be renting a Uhaul again - I have shared my experience with customer service and I will be refunded for the original contract price - I don't believe that is adequate reparations for the poor service I experienced (after being on hold and disconnected for quite some time and being called a liar by the store clerk).Jared M.

Location was OK. However, the U Haul 24/7 app did not work right. I went to pick up the truck 2 hours before the shop opened using 24/7. But when I clicked on it to check in on my phone, it told me I had to wait until the shop opened. Two hours later! Bad service. Luckily, the shop owner showed up 30 minutes later (I had been on the phone trying to connect with UHaul for 25 minutes), so the 24/7 app problem was bypassed. Fix your 24/7 app!Robert S.

The location is a messâ€”trash everywhere. The key pickup/drop off area is blocked by trash, debris, and donated items. You have to step around and over things to get to it.Katherine R.
