I had rented a 5x8, I got a 4x8 and it seemed to me , "take it or don't ". I was over charged on the return. I filed a complaint and haven't had a phone call.JOYCE P.
I completed by Ubox contact here on 1/26/21 . I paid for the truck, mileage and took the Ubox that was shipped from Orlando ( where I already paid the $79.95 storage fee for a month . Today nearly 3 months later , they called me and asked if I had rented a Ubox , I said yes and she said thank you and hung up . Then she charged my account $85.15 again for storage ! She told me to go ahead and fight it when I called back. I use uhaul often and have never had such a poor experience. Angelique is who contacted me .robin M.

Location was changed the day before pick up and was further from our house, so we had to pay overage fees for mileage. The pick up location was busy that morning, so we had to wait almost an hour to get our truck. Some staff were friendly, but the woman who checked us out was snippy when we asked if there was an issue with our rental.Edward R.
I had rented a strapped appliance dolly and blankets. When I opened the back of the truck, there is another bag of blankets and a regular dolly attached to the wall of he truck. I had to pay if I used them, but the problem is they were in my way. Especially the dolly. Next time I will ask for them to be removed before I rent a truck. We did not rent this equipment. It was mistakenly entered into our account by the rental office staff. We were shocked when notified that we had picked up equipment, and they could not tell us how it happened. Will not use this incompetent location in future.Robert J.

Make sure the trailers are swept out after use. Acknowledge customers when they come inside and make them feel valued. This location has no sense of urgency and just moves at a snails pace. It felt very odd to get so a low level of service. I'm not asking for chic fil a type service but jeez at least do somethingJered M.

Don't duplicate effort. I completed the express check-in and the girl at Jim Camper repeated every step. At no time was she wearing a mask or making an attempt to social distance. She had a dog in her office and I dislike dogs. Unprofessional!Keith R.

I completed the online check in to improve the check in process and limit the person to person contact. When I arrived at the site I was asked for the same information and had to present my license and credit card. I am not sure why I needed to complete the online check in if U-Haul is not going to use it, and does not seam to care about trying to operate in a safe manner, as it relates to the COVID-19 virus . I am very careful about contact with other individuals and I wear a mask when in the company of other individuals The representative did not wear a mask nor did another individual in the office when I came in. The van was dirty inside and there were no signs of disinfecting the van prior to my rental. I am very disappointed in the lack of CDC protocol U-Haul is exhibiting toward their customers. I would be pleased to talk with the U-Haul person responsible for U-Haul's COVID-19 operating protocol. Bob Hunt.Robert H.

The tailgate on this vehicle is full of gravel and every time you open and close the tailgate it dumps out gravel. I'm disappointed on the failure of the return online system. For the second time it would not find my location and allow me to proceed with the turn in. That is a $20 rip off again because your software doesn't work.david M.
The van was clean "enough" but I was not impressed. Brakes were squeaky and that made me nervous on mountain roads. The people were very nice and helpful all through the booking process. I had agreed to mobile device check in but was caught off guard to realize the location was closed for Labor Day when I arrived. A big truck was parked in front of the key kiosk so all that was visible was the, uninviting locked gate and I had a little "freak out". I ended up on the phone with Hawk Hawkins from another Uhaul location in town that was open on Labor Day. He saved the day for me by walking me through locating the key kiosk and the process. I realize I had all the info I needed and brought the confusion on myself but, I was coordinating a stressful move for my dad and it didn't take much to throw me. In any case, Uhaul did what they promised, I didn't read all the info I was sent and needed a hero that day - He was Hawk Hawkins. Lastly, there was not a great spot to park my car while I was renting the van M- Thur. - something I'd inquired about and been told leaving my car would not be a problem. At the very last minute someone who worked there appeared and suggested a terribly slopped grassy area for me to leave it. It all ended up fine but wasn't necessarily comfortable on the front end. It may not have been perfect but, Uhaul was an affordable option. You get what you pay for , right?Renee H.

My issue was not necessarily with the location as the overall experience of renting the U-haul. The van was not clean, the windows were especially dirty, which made it difficult to see while driving an unfamiliar van. The process of using the after hours smartphone service was frustrating... took me over 40 minutes to actually get the keys. U-Haul advertises a 19.95 rental... NOT TRUE! Buyer beware!! They wanted to charge me over 4 times that amount when I returned the van (in the exact condition it was received). When returning the vehicle, you must fill out a survey... one question was â€œIs the vehicle clean enough for another family to useâ€? I said NO... so they charged ME a $25.00 cleaning fee!! I only had it long enough to pick up a door from Home Depot. My advice: pay the delivery fee. Rental could cost you a lot more stress and money... $85.73 is absurd, when advertising 19.95!Christine L.

The van smelled like wet dog was very dirty then after I got to my location to load my furniture at the store the back cargo door would not open called not at all helpful said I needed to drive back 30 miles to return and of course they were closed till Monday finally got a person at a uhaul office to open the the door so after got my furniture loaded I was 15 minutes later than said on contract so was charged another day. Was all together very bad experience would never go or recommend again at allLeslie R.

Pickup location did not have the truck I reserved and I was stuck with a larger truck that was overkill for my needs and used a lot more fuel. Woman working there was not very nice about it either. Despite using 24/7 online pickup, I still had to go inside and wait for her to get me the key.Michael R.

The location was not an issue. It was customer service who scheduled my reservation wrong and I had to go and wait a couple hours in bad weather with my 5 year old to get let in a truck. The truck was not bad dirty but definitely was handed in cleaner. It was as if it had been parked on a rainy day. The man who rented us the truck did meet us prior to opening to resolve situation but still on uhaul, I waited 2 and a half hours in bad weather for a truck was overcharged, given wrong charge upon return. I might have to rent elsewhere. I had a 5 minute interaction in person with the man and it was as if I did something wrong.Wendy M.
Upon arrival, I had a hard time getting the lock to work to retrieve the key. I accessed the â€œLive Chatâ€ feature from U-haul and they gave me a number to call. The number was disconnected. I was then told to call an 800 number that left me in a que for 15-20 minutes before it dropped me. I had to call a friend to come and get the lock off (which was rusted and sticking). The check engine light was on, vehicle was â€œstruggling,â€ and the right passenger side rear view mirror was shattered and missing pieces.Meghan L.

Uhaul should give you accurate quotes upfront. I was upset when charges were added after my items were shipped or added when I thought we would get them at a set price. I paid extremely too much for he service I received. I would not recommend this for cross country moves at all. Too expensive and too much of a hassle.Johnnifer B.

The online services of Uhaul for picking it up is easily the worst experience I've had with any form of online booking. I had to wait for an hour before I could pick up my Uhaul from the place. I ended up having to get the office to give it to me because the online services were so poor. Wasted money and my time. I will not use Uhaul ever again to move. The establishment itself was well maintained and all the people working were very friendly. Due to Covid-19 I was hoping to do everything online and have limited human interaction but Uhaul decided that wasn't in my best interest.Dylan P.

When I first telephoned regarding availability it took quite a long time for the rep at the facility to be able to tell me if they had what I wanted available, I was very close to calling another facility. On getting a positive response I went to the business, the rental process went smoothly. I was told where the trailer was and that one of two people would be out to assist me, After waiting for a few minutes and not seeing anyone heading my way, I hooked up the trailer, checked the lights and did what I had to do. Returned the trailer a few hours later, unhooked it and set it back in place, then went into the building and informed the rep the trailer was back and where it was.timothy D.
