You sent me to a closed U Haul office. While the signs said it was closed for the day, and another sign said moving locations soon, there was still U Haul trucks around, and a key slot to drop off. It wasn't until 2 days later I found out from U Haul that the place was permanently closed. U Haul call center took care of the issues like pros.Jeffrey H.

The posted hours were 6 pm and when we arrived, they had closed early and there was a note to drop the keys in a slot. We did that and video taped the drop. The next morning I received a call from an Indy number (317-850-2383) telling me the truck and key tag was there but no key. Once I told him we video taped the drop, he rudely said â€œwe'll figure it outâ€ and rushed to get off the phone with me. Very unprofessional and not sure what kind of scam was going on.TROY H.

I was told that if I dropped the truck off before 9a the next day I would not be charged for the extra night. I was asked to drop off at the 17th st by the owner Johnny, when I expressed that another location might have contacted me about drop off. I got the truck to the location at midnight the morning we had agreed on, and I was charged 57 dollars for the extra night. Exactly the opposite of what I was told would happen. I left my seat belt cover in the truck mistakenly. I tried to contact this location using Johnny's number and was not able to get through all day. I feel like I was lied to and charged fees that were unfair. Especially considering the heat advisory in Bloomington the day I had to unload my truck, which I talked about to Jonny and prompted him to make the agreement with me. I have not received any communication and I would like a refund of the fees and my lost item. I am not hopeful I will get either one back.AZISA C.

The U-Haul company seems like they do not have up to date software forcing the employees to deal with limitations and problem solving hourly. Uhaul also does not provide the structure for the employees to provide quality customer service. I'm not sure why I use Uhaul.NICKOLAS F.

Hands down worst customer service I have ever experienced at a U-Haul location. For some reason the U-Haul website allowed counter check-in while my pickup time was 30 minutes after the store closed. So according to the U-Haul website the store was supposed to be open. But when I got there the store was closed. There were two people there. Both of them behaved as if it was my fault. They were extremely rude and very unprofessional. I felt as if they were doing me a massive favor. Extremely poor customer service. I don't know if anybody at this business is actually reading these reviews. But in my opinion you need to look into this. They kept asking me to pick up the truck online. I told them that I have no instructions to pick it up online. They kept repeating the same thing to me and were extremely unprofessional and callous. After I told them many times that I have no instructions to pick up using my cell phone, one of them actually went in and changed it so that I could pick up the truck myself through the cell phone. Also, the display of my truck had an error message. Extremely irresponsible for that staff to completely ignore that error message. The error message was for tire pressure monitor. Because of that I could not even see the mileage until I figured out that I could see it when I turned off the truck. For this reason I could not even complete the check-in online even after my pickup was changed to online pickup. Again, the person who got the truck ready for me should have seen that. After 1 hour and a half of waiting, I was able to get on my way. Very bad customer service experience. I cannot say it enough times. I wish there was an option to give negative five stars for the customer service. Other than the bad customer service, everything went well.Shrey T.
I was shocked to hear that there were over 100 customers in the area that had trucks reserved, but were not available for pickup. The gentleman at this location was very helpful. In the store: The guy who took care of my order behaved indecently! I made my reservation online and went there to pick up the truck. While working on my order, he was debating with his colleague and whining about a third colleague, â€œGrouch! he is sitting there on his b*** doing nothing!â€. I reserved half a dozen blankets, but they didn't have any, which cause me a lot of inconveniences. When I booked the truck online, the estimated cost was around $40. They excluded the blanket from my order, so I was expecting something near $35 for the receipt. He emailed me the ticket, and I couldn't check the details at that moment, but he said the bill would be around $50, and when I asked why? They said it's just an estimate, Uhaul updated their software recently that pre-charges for 30 miles and other untrue information. Post rental: I was billed for $75, and I noticed I was charged for insurance coverage which I never reserved!!! I called the store and asked them why they charged me, the same person said he asked me whether I wanted it and told him yes! That's a big lie; I never asked for it. If I wanted the insurance, I would have added it during the online reservation. I told him he could check their store camera, but he said they don't have any camera, which was another lie because I saw at least one in-store camera over the check-in desk! And he said he is the owner, and if I had any complaint, I needed to claim it through Uhaul. They also charged me for 3 gallons of gas. The gauge was not digital, and I couldn't exactly tell how much I used, but I drove 15 miles and topped 2 gallons of gas, which I have its receipt. When I asked about the gas problem, I heard the same response that I needed to contact Uhaul, and that's when he started yelling that he is busy â€¦ and being so rude again. The person running the place had no clue how to manage the computer. I came in with my truck fully rented just needed the key. Had to go through a whole thing with the employee has he told me the app probably did not work. It was clear he didn't know what was going on. Also I had to wait for 25 min to get the key despite the fact I was supposed to â€œskip the lineâ€ with the convenience of the app. The truck had damage that I had to note and the inside of it had a sign left in it and the the back wasn't swept. When I rented the uhaul NOTHING was said or written about my 19.95 a day consisting of only 4 hours. The last I checked, a day was 24 hours. I've moved many times & have used Uhaul many times. This has never happened. Right in the middle of my move, I get a text saying I had to get it back by 4:00 & I picked it up at noon!! For a $20 convenience fee, I could rent it until next day. Well, I tried that but another family needed it At 4:30, the link read. I ignored it... finished my move around 6:00/6:30, returned it & of course was charged more. I live in a University town & it's move in time. I'm not a college student, btw... but Uhaul is bilking these poor kids who are just trying to move in the dorms. Bilked me too! Shame on Uhaul. There was an enormous line, and it seemed like the location had overbooked the trucks. Despite having a reservation, I needed to wait a half hour before getting my truck. There was an employee who was yelling at the customers as if it were our fault that the trucks were overbooked. The mileage was wrong on the invoice, I brought it to their attention and was told by two different U-Haul representatives at this location that the mileage would be adjusted. However, it still was incorrect on the invoice and I was overcharged. When I called this location I was told that they couldn't help me and I would have to call the 1800-GO-U-HAUL number. The gentleman behind the counter was phenomenal. The U-Haul site was frustrating af. I and a couple others in line originally selected the option to do the U-Haul pick up by phone, under the impression that we would get a code to the lock box and be able to avoid standing in line. We paid and did everything but never got codes so we all had to stand in line with the rest of the customers who hadn't chosen the mobile option. Many of us ended up be 40+ minutes late to pick up our rentals because of this (one gentleman showed up 20 minutes early and was understandably upset about being 40 minutes late to get on the road with his U-Haul). The gentleman working there was sweet, efficient, and the only one handling the dozen or so customers making a line out the door (literally). Wonderful location, frustrating website.Brooke P.

I arrived early for my 8:30am scheduled pickup time to receive my truck and they did not have one for me. This is NOT the first time this has happened to my family. Spent an hour on the phone with customer service and they told me I didnt get the truck â€œbecause I was lateâ€ and wouldnt have one for me till a couple days later. The only reason I was able to get a truck is because someone returned one 5 hours later. When we got in the truck there was a jello shot inside of it and the truck was TERRIBLE to drive. Every little bump in the road caused the whole truck to violently shake (which is ridiculous for a truck thats supposed to move all your possessions- expect all your fragile shit to break) And to top it all off, the person who was working the desk is a registered sex offender who went to jail for child molestation and had personally been harassing me and my friend for over a year. Overall, made my moving day 100x's worse. Causing a 2-3 hour move to turn into an 8 hour move. I would not recommend this company to ANYONE. Save yourself the time and trouble and spend the extra money for a Penske truck. The quality of the trucks are 1000xs better and I have never had an issue getting a truck for my scheduled time. Once I finally got the truck, everything was okay--mostly--but it was a nightmare /comedy of errors to get there. I had reserved a vehicle for a round trip 2 weeks before, arrived to pick it up to discover there was a typo in the reservation that would have had me being charged around $500 more than quoted. The guy called to straighten it out, but couldn't get it to work out. My other option was to rent a larger truck one way and get a rental car home, but they didn't have a truck for me to rent the same day. I went to a different UHaul business. They had a truck, but messed up the destination on the paperwork...it was a mess. The actual trip was okay, truck was clean, etc., but the beginning and end were awful. I will also be checking my credit card statement carefully to make sure I wasn't somehow penalized for returning the truck at the "wrong" drop off location (even though the clerk left that part blank and told me I could return it at any UHaul location).Andrea D.

Arrived and had to stand in line for over 30 minutes while one person slowly checked people in - should have done it myself on the app. My turn came only to learn the van I had reserved wasn't available - given to a person in line in front of me.
