Absolutely do not store your belongings here. I have used U-Haul State Street for summer storage for three consecutive years, and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had with any storage facility. When I returned this summer, I found that essentially everything in my unit had been completely soaked, covered in mold, and/or rotted. This included my mattress, furniture, clothing, books, and personal belongings. The damage was so extensive that I am effectively having to start from scratch and replace my belongings. What makes this especially upsetting is that I was never notified that there had been flooding or water damage at the facility. I was told that other units had been affected, yet somehow I received no notification whatsoever. Given the extent of the deterioration and mold, it appears that my belongings were left exposed to the water for a significant amount of time without my knowledge or any opportunity for me to retrieve or protect them. I did purchase U-Haul's storage protection, but only at the $1,000 level because I had used this facility successfully for years and had absolutely no reason to anticipate that my entire unit would be destroyed by flooding. I have since spoken with the manager, who was courteous and helped me begin the claims process, so I do want to acknowledge that. The issue is the underlying failure of the facility to protect customers' belongings and, most importantly, the complete lack of notification when the flooding occurred. I trusted U-Haul enough to store my entire life there for three summers. I will absolutely never use this facility again, and I strongly recommend that anyone considering storage here think twice.

I had mice droppings in my storage !
ANDRE L | Overall ExperienceI didn’t want to give a bad rating so I elected to not rate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The facility appears clean, but I think it has a mouse problem. I’ve never rented a storage unit before so perhaps this is common. There was evidence of mouse droppings in my unit and several things had been eaten through. Another person was moving out at the same time and a mouse jumped out as she was moving. We all screamed.
