PEGGY T | First ImpressionsMy wife and I have just currently relocated to Richmond, Virginia and we used the U-Haul pod system to get us relocated plus rented a U-Haul truck. The pods have a ride safely without any issues and the traveling with the U-Haul truck was without issues, but it was upon our arrival at this particular storage unit. The staff was quite pleasant in the offices were clean, but when it came to moving our items from our rented truck to our indoor storage facility it was a nightmare and a chore at best. The experience was horrible!! Not only did I have to look for any way to move our items from the extremely long distance of where our truck was told to be parked to traveling with all of our items across a cobblestone brick type driveway to our waist level docking area that we had to lift all of our items up onto in order to move into our indoor storage unit because there was no other way in or out as advised to us. We had to search and hunt for any way to move our items into the storage unit. My wife and I just happened to bring a wagon that we had in the U-Haul to move the items that we had brought with us. Some of the items that we had to move were greater than 100 pounds and we also wound up breaking two expensive fish tanks while trying to move them from the U-Haul into our storage facility. It was a horrible horrible experience. We have been loyal to U-Haul and have used you every move. Every time we have come to U-Haul and this has been our worst experience. I do not look forward at all to moving our items from our storage unit to our new home when we finally are able to locate one here in Richmond, Virginia. I apologize for the rant. Thank you.

Likewise, after I visited the facility, the representative stated this complimentary storage was not an option, will definitely not recommend this location to anyone
