I very rarely accessed the staff so can’t reply to those questions. I only spoke with them when my access card (often) did not work and I would go to the office for them to come and open the door for me. If Door #7 was open after 7 pm it would then not close and I guess was left open until the next day. A couple of times I spoke with staff in Arizona to say they may want to contact Vine Street staff to have the overhead door closed. Recently there was a young woman reorganizing her unit by herself. The buildings are in a high homeless area. I phoned Arizona to say I didn’t feel she was safe in there with Door #7 open for the night. The only communication with U-Haul and staff was dollars removed from my account. The 14 years I was in unit #172 I struggled with mice and rats. I could never get Management to take the situation seriously. As we started to move my belongings out we found droppings everywhere. At one point a few years ago I took a dead critter to Management that I found lying in my unit. I still couldn’t get Management to give me the traps needed to secure the unit over the years. I paid well over $20,000 to U-Haul and they said they were waiting for traps to come from Arizona. All they did was continually increase my rent until it was over $300 each month. With inspection when the unit was empty, there was a hole at the bottom right side which gave vermin access to sleep in bedding in the unit in boxes. They also could have come under the door of the unit. Management problems at 72 Vine Street. I could have torn the lock area off myself it was so unstable. A refund would be appreciated. RICHARD T | First ImpressionsThe outer lockers were not well lit, and my family member was actually mugged out there. Also, the door was exceptionally difficult to close and lock due to the seal being frozen, and the snow not removed from in front of it. There was easily 12 inches of snow we had to remove ourselves. Staff were very helpful in getting it sealed but it was left unlocked when the office was closed and there were no staff to assist.
