This location specifically (Topaz rd, Victoria bc) fails to meet all standards. I was told verbally unlimited access only to discover the next day that it's 7am-7pm. The room I rented was dirty and had no lights making it very inconvenient to try and sort things or access over the 3 months I rented. The facility is located in a neighborhood over run by transient/street folks who are constantly at the storage building and staying inside. I could hear tvs and talking coming from other units. Twice I was approached outside of the building early in the morning by addicts asking for things. Very intimidating and unsafe for women. The office hours do not line up with what's posted online and often the staff are so nonchalant and useless that even 3 or 4 customers in line can take 45 minutes. They are not efficient, professional or organized at all. This location gets 1 star reviews every month for all sorts of problems, but the one I read yesterday was of a lady renting a truck and after driving away, discovering a homeless person staying INSIDE the truck. Apon returning to uhaul, the staff blamed her for not catching it. Excuse me?! We should be able to store things with peace of mind that there won't be random addicts always wandering the facility. We should be able to rent a truck with peace of mind that there won't be a person inside it on YOUR facilities. The payments on the 29th is very inconvenient as well. Obviously most people gain possession of a new place on the 1st. When I asked about keeping my things until the 31st I was told I would have to pay for the following month?! In what world would I pay for the month I won't be renting just because of your stupid policy to take payment on the 29th? You should allow the move out month to always go until the last day. It's unbelievable that you expect customers to rent a truck and move out their things up to 5 days in advance just to avoid this fee. I'm am absolutely disappointed in my experiences there and would appreciate a full refund for the month of Aug since I got all my stuff out on the 31st of July. Please investigate this location and its incompetent staff. Stop ignoring the reviews and clean house with new staff.

I had a random person give me a phone number to the manager. Ridiculous in my eyes. Then check out of the storage unit 15 days early and get $0 discount for checking out early. Your company really disappointed us. Dave
Dave W | Overall ExperienceI wish someone would have mentioned the added fee if you after 2-3 months. I would have made other arrangements to store my items. I feel the access hours should be available to someone 24hrs a day. It’s our belongings and should be able to access later than 7pm or have less restrictions.

It's just a storage facility...but I was wrong. Uhaul at Topaz location was like a family. The team at the Topaz location were so incredibly helpful, pleasant and a joy to do business with.
