They need more staff. Location is small and difficult to get thru by phone and the wait in person can be slightly long due to black of staff

My experience at 220 E 117th St, New York location was excellent. However, my experience at U-haul Chelsea (562 W 23rd St, New York) was NOT good at all. I was late for my original reservation, so it got canceled - I get it, I understand. But the guy at the counter kept bringing it up, as if to scold me. I'm not a child, so that was very irritating. Then, I was rescheduled for 4pm at the same Chelsea location. Several hours later, I was automatically switched (without my approval) to a location in the Bronx, which is very far and not what I wanted. I was never asked if I wanted to go there - I was just switched. If I didn't check my email by chance, I would have gone to the Chelsea location at 4pm expecting a van and wasted a lot of time. I called and spoke to a Sylvia at the Chelsea location who couldn't help me. I asked for a manager, and she wouldn't transfer me. She said that "she contacted several managers to respond to my request for a call back asap." I never got a call back. I ended up calling scheduling who finally sent me to the 117th St location. Overall, the Chelsea location wasted my time and was disrespectful and inconsiderate to me as a U-haul customer.

Did not have cargo van. Gave me 10 foot which was very hard to maneuver and park which led to needing more miles and 3 extra hours, for which I was charged an entire extra day!

Dave was welcoming, friendly and wonderful to deal with at the end of a long trip. Who says New Yorkers are not friendly??? Dave proves them wrong. He could not have done better.

The tire pressure monitoring sensor broke in 10 minutes of driving. Then, one of the brake lights went out. Are you kidding me?? Awful.

Provide vans that are more comfortable and has better side mirrors so that the driver can see vehicles right behind on both lanes and gets a realistic sense of how far behind they are. I found changing lane challenging because I was unable to determine the distance between my van and other vehicles behind me in lanes adjacent to mine.

Staff was excellent - friendly, responsive and helpful, no AC in reservation area

The men at this location were great, but the experience I had with MovingHelp is why i would never suggest Uhaul (the company) to anyone and i will go out of my way to suggest budget, penske, task rabbit, amazon helpers. any alternative to Uhaul available. Problem is movinghelp.com is powered by Uhaul but has no contingency plan nor accountability for the companies you list on there. Morning of my move no one called, no one showed up. No one answered the company phone. There is no contact number for movinghelp and when I called Uhaul customer care I was told I was on my own. I am pissed and never been so happy to work in media and have access to so many people who move often. So no I'm not happy with my experience and I would never suggest this company to anyone. To be clear - this review isn't a reflection on the location. The gentlemen there were the only positive representation of the brand put forth that day.
