Spend more time inspecting equipment before it goes out for rental.

Both employees were rude and uncooperative. I called U Haul customer service. When the rep called the location to intervene the older employee was rude to her as well and hung up on her.

I dropped off my equipment and was told I was good to go. A week later I get a phone call about not turning in my equipment. That turned in to another phone call a few days later and snarky email from Uhaul. My advice is when turning in your equipment, get a receipt.

I received wrong confirmation information about the availability of the truck I had scheduled. Both customer service rep’s confirmed a different pick up location. On my way to pick up the truck your manager call and again told me the location that I was headed to didn’t have the truck available. People were standing and waiting. I was told that the only truck available was all the way up north . I had no choice at this point so I had to drive north . I was given a credit but the whole experience was a nightmare. That’s the story I’ll tell when asked about my experience with U-HAUL ..... There’s definitely room for improvement!

The person working there was not that helpful. I was also charged $50 for a cleaning fee even though I returned it extremely clean and was not told ahead of time about a $50 cleaning fee. Overall it was not a positive experience.

I drove three hours to Chicago to get the truck I got there late and the truck was rented to someone else. When reserve the truck I was to pick it up on the south side of Chicago but on the morning of the move I received an email telling me the truck was to be picked up on west Erie street which was one hour from the place I needed to move from. Customer service and maintenance of the vehicle was super poor

This was a horrible experience. I will never go to this location again, and I would prefer never to use UHaul again. 1) I chose a location near to me to save on gas, miles, and transport. They moved my location and pick up time, telling me the morning of my move, after I had already gotten movers. I arrived early, by car, to a place 5 miles away from where I had originally asked to go. They did not warn me that this new location charged to park. I then stood in line in the hot sun for 50 minutes - while the U Haul service worked with the 4 people in front of me. When I asked for them to waive the miles and parking fee, they agreed to waive a few of the miles, and then berated me and called me "ungrateful" and "opportunistic" because I asked for my car parking fee to ba waived. When I pointed out that the 50 minutes it took for them to process me - despite my arriving early - was cutting into time I had to pay my movers regardless, they got even more angry, telling me that I was a complainer, that I didn't know what I was talking about, and calling me ignorant. I became quite angry, at which point they threatened to not give me a truck at all. Then, they failed to provide me with my pre-ordered moving pads, and later billed me for 2 sets of moving pads and other equiptment I did not order. My movers arrived at 2 and I was not able to get to my house until 2:45. I still had to pay for that time. This was the worst customer service, and U Haul should be ashamed to be moveing people around like this and to be working with such a horrible provider.

Everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. I was supposed to pick up using mobile pick up, got a confirmation that the truck is ready. At the location, surprise- truck was never assigned. The truck that was given to me was in- town rental. I had to drive back 40 miles. To top it off, I was charged for extra mileage. Did I mention the dealer and traffic scheduler were not only rude they sounded like I am at fault for choosing Uhaul. Worst experience ever. Will never recommend uHaul unless someone shows they care.

I reserved my truck 2 blocks from my apartment for the 615 south Wabash location and when I went to get my truck I had to go across town to the 700 Erie location. I don’t know why there was a switch but it cost me over $10 for an Uber and an hour of time to get the truck from that location.

Google map locations needs to be updated as the Uhaul drop off is located next door to the location on the maps. This location is located on a dead end road and INCREDIBLY difficult to do a u-turn when you have an auto transport attached to the back of the u-haul.

Workers were rude and terribly unhelpful. We showed up and the wrong trailer was offered to pull our car. The man wouldn't help get the car loaded without saying he would help for $40 cash. We asked if we could keep the car there for an hour or two while we loaded the truck and they were very rude. We would have understood an explanation of there isn't enough room, it's not policy, etc but this wasn't the case. We asked that our truck and trailer be picked up in Oak Park and it was only available at this location. I wouldn't use this location or recommend it to anyone ever. We had much better service/experience when we used the Villa Park, IL location as well as the Overland Park KS location. Both locations were extremely helpful and provided customer service which the 700 W Erie location in Chicago completely lacked. How disgraceful.



We applied to pick up the truck from one location and then we were told to go an pick it up 12 miles away on our time and money. This is a marketing and management fault. We were told by the U-Haul person at the pick up site that we should not pay anything for the mileage for your inconvenience. We also told the person we might be a little bit later at the dropping center and asked how much will cost the late delivery. He said that is not a problem. In the end we saw the extra charge for late dropping time. Very bad service. We felt robbed.

My boxes were supposed to be picked up here and were not available, the order was canceled without anyone ever contacting me. To say the staff were unhelpful would be a gross understatement. They just told me to call the help line (where I was on hold for 45min) and walked away, leaving me by myself in the ninety degree heat. They claimed they had no means of contacting U-Haul through internal channels. If that is actually the truth, I can't imagine how your business is still running. There need to be ways for employees to escalate real-time client issues like I had.
