The location where I rented was as always helpful friendly and courteous; however, when I returned the truck and submitted my photos I received a receipt stating I was being charged for cleaning when the truck was clean both cab and cargo area; so I was a bit disappointed by that and I have not received a response about that charge as of yet

This review is based off of the Uhaul location in Bethalto IL, U-Haul customer service, and their “professional” call reps. I rated this location as an horrible because U-Haul does not give the opportunity to rate the second location as well. Yes, you read that correct. I scheduled a truck pick up, as well as, auto transport via live chat last Wednesday. The person I spoke with by the name of Theresa did not even bother scheduling my addition. Once i discovered Sunday that this was never added, I had to do the same to get it added sunday(the day before pickup). I had to travel 20 miles from this location to pick this up only to be met with hell. The Bethalto location only has one worker and tons of customers so you will be waiting a while like I had to. After waiting, she came outside and assisted with attaching the transport. Once she did what she thought was accurate and informed me to follow YouTube instructions, I drove up the transport as directed and nearly wrecked my entire car. She did not attach the auto transport correctly causing my car to seesaw with me inside. After she came back outside 40 minutes later, she proceeded to say “well if I would have known you were loading your car I would have helped” as if I did not tell and show her that I was. I called customer service to discuss what was going on and he had no clue on how to assist, help, guide or anything. After removing my car from the transport, I noticed my car was scratched and so was the truck. She placed a sticker on the truck and FOUR HOURS later I was able to get on the road WITHOUT MY CAR AND TRANSPORT. When calling in to speak with supervisors, I was informed that EVERY supervisor and manager across the country was busy in a meeting and I couldn’t speak to anyone but the representive who did not help. I waited 72 hours for each complaint and I got nothing. Today, I decided to call and discovered that someone ATTEMPTED to call on the 18th, although I don’t have a missed call nor voicemail, and resolved the case by providing a 20 dollar credit for the next purchase which I believe is bullshit. I will not purchase A THING from your establishment and this process has been morally degrading and time consuming being that I waited 4 hours that day and had to return the next day via Amtrak just to pick up my car and drive back to Chicago. Once asking for a proper review place, the “supervisor” today informed me that this review would not be rated on the store if i did www.uhaul.com/review however she was wrong so blame her. This is sad, this is embarrassing, however I guess this is Uhaul.

I had a scheduling conflict and agreed to pick up at a different location, IF, the lady wouldn't charge me the difference in miles, unfortunately they didn't make a note on my account and i paid for 16 more miles than i should have. If I could have picked up the truck i wanted at the location nearest to me, it wouldn't have been a problem. I will second guess using uhaul in the future.

The truck leaned really bad to the right. When we picked it up and loaded it, we didn't notice it. We loaded it evenly, so we know about weight distribution, however, driving through the mountains on curvy roads, in rain, it felt very unsafe. The cab also leaked and rain came in the roof corner. When we unloaded the truck, it still leaned to the right.

I have only compliments. I arranged the vehicle rental in Highland, Il. The young man who helped me was so kind and accommodating. Because it was July 4, that location was closed; however, he arranged my pickup in Collinsville, Illinois. At that location — near Orchard Shopping Center — your agent there, too, was professional, organized, and helpful. Overall, an EXCELLENT experience.
