thoroughly disappointed in my experience at this uhaul location. I arrived at scheduled hr to pick up uhaul but was delayed by almost 1 1/2 hrs! this was due to some "glitch" in the p.o.s system. the young lady who served me was obviously frustrated as was I. as it turned out; after 3 attempts to try and pay with my debit card and her on hold with the tech department..was it then suggested I walk over to the hotel and use the debit machine so that I would have now have to pay cash(which there would also be a charge for using the hotel debit machine) for my rental. then I was informed that I now also had to pay an extra $100 dollar cash deposit! grrrr...so frustrating to be out 100$ cash on moving day but also 1/12 hrs behind schedule due to something that the server at that location said "has happened before" ...seriously?! for such a huge moving rental company, one would think they'd have a smoother running system in place for their customers using this service! and then to top it all off I discover wrappers from nuts and chips, etc flying around from under the seats once we finally got on the road and had opened the windows for fresh air. I did my part as a considerable citizen and did away with the garbage so that I wouldn't be reprimanded for it at my drop off point! then, after a very long day, (again extended by the extra grueling 1 1/2 hrs of waiting to just pay for my rental) I find out that the gas guage read differently from when I fueled up to when I parked it at the drop off site and so now I don't get all of my $100 cash deposit back! perhaps uhaul should have every rental vehicles' gas guage at the full mark instead random places on the guage so there is no discrepancies! Seriously, an all round very frustrating & disappointing experience!

I drove 41.8km and was charged for 41.8miles. Fortunately I caught the mistake. At first they insisted I was wrong but I had taken a picture of the digital display which clearly said km's. They insisted it was miles at it was a US truck. I had to speak to head office and they said the same thing. I knew on newer vehicles the display could be changed. The local Uhaul person had to go into the truck and switch it to miles in order for them to fix the mistake. Fortunately the truck was still there otherwise I would have likely been out of luck. I wonder how many other people have paid $1.43 per KM instead of $0.89? What a hassle.

The uhaul dealer was excellent however the unit itself was terrible. Very poorly maintained and was a nightmare to drive. It had a death rattle 45-65km. Very beat up unit. Needs to be retired.

The UHaul I used had a leak in it and after I left it over night loaded with my belongings, I found the floor of it covered in water (it rained). All my boxes that were on the floor were soaked though, now I need to throw out many of my keepsakes and belongings because they will be left wet in storage until I move to that location in 2 weeks. Not impressed. I expected more of UHaul.

Provide greater choice in drop off locations for the same price. I had to drive an extra 3 hours to drop off in Creston rather than preferred location of Nelson in order to save $300.

Julia was excellent with her service and making sure everything was OK before picking up our truck. Very polite and courteous. The only negative thing out the whole experience was not having snow tires on the truck. It slowed down our entrance into the driveway about 45 minutes plus. Very disappointing.

Our only issue was the vehicle we rented did not have winter tires on it and we had to deal with the snow and ice on the roads as we live in the mountains.

this truck was rented in south east BC, and even though I rented it for November 10th-12th the unit DID NOT have any snow tires. Not a good option for the mountains.
