When I This is my review for Collins on Yelp I was planning to move from one city to another. I called a day in advance to reserve a truck. I gave the lady all my information including my card information. I asked if the price that was quoted to me would be the price I would be paying when I picked up the truck. I was told to be prepared for just that amount. Now I am standing in front of them the day of and my total is $70 more than I expected to pay. In addition to the truck not being on site and me having to wait one hour for it. Moving is expensive and I love to make sure I’m properly budgeting my funds. I was tired of debating with them so I settled, but I will never use this location again.

After being sent to this as a second location because the first did not have a dolly. The man rang me up and said I was all set and I had to go get the trailer and hook it up my self to find that one of the tail lights were out. In the process this man had dissappered and the only other man that seemed like he worked there or at-least was a friend watching the shop had no idea what to do. When the man finally came back about 15 minutes later I told him I needed to cancel since the tail light is out and he first told me to take it to another place and they will fix the light. I said I just want to cancel it and he reluctantly said he will cal his manager and see what he wants to do. Manager tells him he can cancel it. While he tries to figure out how to even cancel the order the manager calls back and asks if I would be willing to take an auto transport instead of the tow dolly. I agreed, he had two, one in rough shape the other fairly new. Tried to get me to take the rough one first then finally agreed to give me the newer one. 1.5 hours later at the second uhaul location I was finally on my way.

They charged me a fuel fee even though I put gas in the truck before returning, I didn’t drive the miles they claimed I did thus charging me more, how is it $46 just in mileage?!! I was taken advantage of

Excelent atention

I rented the truck before noon on 6/22/18 at Collins Exxon in Durham, NC and had returned it to the same person (Lee Collins) before closing on the same day. The next day I received an email indicating that I was being charged for two rental periods. The email claimed that I had kept the truck for two days. I went back and spoke to Mr. Collins and he told me to text or call James Crews, his regional manager, at 919-939-4808 and explain the error. I did that on Saturday. It is now Tuesday and I have not received any reply. As it stands, I have been incorrectly charged more than $50 and U-Haul employees appear unconcerned. In addition to the problem described above, I had a problem with the first rental that I had arranged for that day (Friday, 6/22/18) as well. I had made a reservation to pick up a truck at 10:00 am at Bull City Auto Center, Durham, NC, but when I showed up to get the truck, the store was closed and a hand-written sign indicated that it would not open until 10:30 am. Other people were also waiting for their rental and calling U-Haul to complain that their reservation times were not being honored. That was the point at which I went to the Collins Exxon location and rented that truck. I've been using U-Haul for years, but based on these two experiences with U-Haul in Durham, I will look into a Penske truck for future needs in this city. This process has consumed entirely too much time. In addition, the cab of the truck was pretty dirty. I had to throw out the half-drunk soda and Gatorade left by the previous user. U-Haul trucks have been much cleaner in the past. I think Durham locations have significant professionalism and quality issues.

turned truck in and got overcharged

terrible service, we had to wait 1 hour, dirty truck, no check was made, and the site unpleasant and unsafe

This location was not the closest location to my destination; somehow the reservation system chose a drop-off location more than 20 miles from my destination when there was a LARGE U-Haul facility two miles from where I was.

I did my reservation on line and the location was less than a mile after that they told me they're out and they send me to another location and changed my time from 9 am to 2:15 pm after I went there I just waited the guy for 30 minutes also the truck smells so bad so I'm not recommended to do that a gain with this company

Very helpful and professional- even took the time to talk through how to use the tow dolly. Much appreciated!

There were very deep potholes all over the parking lot/gas station where this was located

Truck booked for 10am, U-Haul staff didn’t bother to show up until 10.50am. Had to reorganise lots of other things because of this delay (on the day of moving house).
