The location was situated in a gated community on a military base. When I arrived at the gate, I got turned around and had to drive for 20 minutes to reach the visitor center. There, I needed to go inside to obtain a ticket and a pass to access the base. After that, I had to visit a plaza to sign the contract and receive the key code. Finally, I drove across the parking lot to pick up the U-Haul. It felt like a lot of effort just to collect the vehicle. I believe that if I had been informed beforehand that I needed to go to the visitor center first as a civilian, it would have saved me a significant amount of time.
