GREAT QUICK
AHMED BSet up my rental on-line, using the Nicollet location in Minneapolis, as it was less than 10 blocks from my location. Two days before scheduled pick up, received an email, stating my truck would be available at the 2nd St. location. Well off my planned route, I was able to get there eventually. Entrance to building was blocked by non-U haul trucks, icy goat path to the door. The person on duty was very professional, with great customer service skills, and made the process interesting. My rental had to by picked up by a forklift, and dragged from the parking lot. The dolly I had requested was not there, was told I had go elsewhere and ask for one. Truck itself was not bad, although the passenger door did not close properly, and the wind coming through was annoying. Not two minutes into my journey, phone started beeping, with instructions to to take pictures of the vehicle. I stopped, took the pictures, and soon received a message that there was an error on their end, and nothing had gone through. As I was already driving, I ignored the rest. The return was swift and done professionally.
Donald ODropped off after hours, wasn't super clear where to drop the truck off, but we figured it out. Truck was not checked in until 3 days after we returned it, which is concerning for us as it could have been damaged between us dropping it off and when it was checked in.
Anna ZI was told to pick up truck at 5:45pm by UHaul office. Arrived at that time to find the glass door locked and it was dark thru the glass. I didn't know what to do! I had house shoes on and was not prepared to walk in the wet snow, and the cold temperature. I walked (no sidewalk) 1/2 block, tho it seemed the normal length of a city block. I had seen a garage door open w lights on when we had driven past it. It was the only place open. When I got there they told me they were not UHaul, that it was the glass door I'd gone to. I told him I knocked loudly on the glass door a lot and no-one answered. He told me to go to a solid tan door w an awning and no signage on it at all - that it would be unlocked. It felt unsafe! I walked back in the wet snow and knocked loudly on the door many times, w no answer. I opened the door. Lights were on and there were many bays of what looked like autobody repair/painting. One man at the far end, w his back to me, was working on a car. It was not noisy. I called out "Hello" numerous times and after no answers, I yelled "Hello" as loud as I could numerous times. Finally a man came and said that he has told the UHaul office that he closes at 5:00pm many times, and they just seemed to ignore him. He had me walk to the glass door, turned on light and opened it for me. He got on the phone and meanwhile, ANOTHER couple came in to pickup a truck, well after 6:00pm. It took a while and he gave me a key and said the truck was on another street a block away (Washington). He didn't give us a license # and there were 2 trucks there. We figured out which it was. The truck cab was definitely not clean. It was dirty and had bits of trash on the floor and other areas! It was rather gross. I wasn't told anything about putting gas in the truck, nor how to go about returning it if no-one was around. So we didn't add any gas, tho certainly would've if we had been informed. W my glance at the invoice, I think I saw that I was supposed to return it by 3:45pm, eventho we did not get the truck until likely 7:00pm or 7:30pm. That next day my husband was very ill. I believe I tried calling the UHaul location and, as they were closed, it went to main office. I was told there was nothing at all she/they could do about any of it, except document it and send it somewhere.
