The lady that serviced me (due to the app not working properly) was on her cell phone and acted as if it were rude of me to walk into the location while she was clearly taking a personal call. She also did not know to give me the key to the truck, even though I showed her that the app advised me to do exactly as I was doing. After finally retrieving the key, I was surprised to find the condition of the truck. There was food debris all over the cup holders, used tissues and napkins thrown in the back and the outside was very dirty. The pictures shown on the app were definitely not the same vehicle I was supposed to be driving away. I was also beyond shocked to see the mileage was way more (almost 1k miles) than what was actually showing on the dashboard. There were scratches to the front of the vehicle and to the outside of the truck bed. When I brought this to the attention of the very rude lady inside, she called her supervisor, whom informed her she shouldn't have given me the key, and that the 24/7 app was turned off for their location, so I shouldn't have been able to do all that I did. So she went into the system and pulled up my rental agreement and said, well it looks like you're all set to go. I asked if it recorded the appropriate mileage, and she said she didn't know, but they could take care of it later. I left, and emailed back the regional accounts representative about the mileage, he assured me it was adjusted and apologized. Upon returning the truck, my assistant manager was SHOCKED by the things the lady was now saying to her about me, even after she explained to her that I was her boss. The lady told my assistant manager that I was a complete 'b*tch' and it must be terrible to work for somebody like me. My ASM told her that she actually really likes me and was surprised that I would say/do some of the things she was accusing me of. She told my ASM that I came up in there telling her she better clean that 'damn truck,' etc. I NEVER asked for her to clean it out, for one, for two, I don't appreciate being SLANDERED because this lady could not handle being an employee of uHaul.Elizabeth L.
The lady at the counter was rude, she wanted to leave and didn't even checked my order. She send me a text to pickup the keys outside of the store and didn't check additional equipment that I ordered (dolly, blankets, etc.). She didn't want to complete my sign up through the system and lied to me by saying the only way to sign in was through my phone since she wanted to leave. She didn't check the gas, neither the truck to see for any scratches, etc.Luis T.

I did not initially choose this pick up location. The day before I was to pick up my truck, Uhaul contacted me and told me that my pick up location was changed to Pronto Packing and Shipping. My reservation was for a 10 am pickup. I arrived at the location around 9:40 am, and the store was still closed. We sat in the parking lot until the employee arrived after 10:30 am. She did not mention or apologize for being late. When she told us the total price it was higher than we had paid when we did the precheck in online. She told us that the insurance was added to our order even though we had declined it when we ordered online. We asked her to remove it but she said that she could not and that we had to contact uhaul. The store also did not have a dolly that we had reserved so we had to spend more time and go to a second Uhaul location (U-Haul Moving & Storage of Westpark) to get a dolly. She was able to remove the charges for the dolly even though she said she could not remove the insurance. I also believe that a security deposit may have been charged to me even though it shouldn't have because I used a credit card. There was no walk around of the vehicle at the site to check for damages and we were told we would get a link to do it online which we did not receive until after we called uhaul. As for the truck, there were multiple scratches and dents on the vehicle. We also noticed that the rear, inner, driver's side tire was deflated . We had to go to a 3rd Uhaul location at Uhaul Moving & Storage of Terrace Oaks after we noticed that issue. The tire was at only 10 PSI when it was supposed to be at 80 PSI. Connie Mckee and her staff were very friendly and quickly checked the tire pressure in all of the tires and even checked under the hood. As for the incorrect charges, we called the Uhaul agent who told us that they were not able to remove the insurance charges from our bill because it was an "active order" and that we would have to ask them to remove the insurance charges at the drop off location. At the drop off location, they stated they also would not be able to remove the insurance charges and contacted uhaul again for us. Uhaul stated that they will investigate our issues for us and to expect a response within 72 hours. During the truck rental period we contacted uhaul several times for assistance over the phone and had to wait over 10 minutes on hold before someone answered our call.Sannee D.

Have the person running the location care about customer service. I waited an hour and a half past my pick up time for her to show up and give me the key. When she did arrive she never got off of her phone and just walked in handed me the key and continued her phone conversation the entire time. No apology for waiting outside in 100 degrees weather or anything. Absolutely terrible customer service.Nicholas R.
The lady who was taking care of us didn't explain anything she was really bad she literally had us helping cleaning the truck and the she offered some kind of credit.. just awful never coming back again she really messed up everything she was taking her time to give me the paperwork and the truck I guess she didn't care about the customer you can tell she's just to do her money and that's itLUIS I.

The bad review isn't for this location necessarily but for U-Haul in general. I made a reservation several weeks ago (Res#22475867). On the day of my reservation, 20 min before I was suppose to pick up, the representative at the Almeda Location in Houston called me to let me know that they did not have a truck available for me and that I had to go to the San Jacinto location (Downtown). This would have been a small inconvenience but when I arrived at the new location there was about 20 people in line. After waiting 2+Hours to pick my truck, I was told that the location could not honor my reservation. This was extremely troubling and I had to scramble to make a reservation at a differently location. I had to Uber to the other location since I was dropped off at this one so that cost me more money than I originally anticipated. The worst part is that I had movers that I booked though the U-Haul reservation process. The movers were reserved for 2 hours but I had to be late due to the error from U-haul, which cost me more money. This location was able to help me last minute and I am grateful for that but it did cost me $60 more to book with this location. Someone please reach out to me to make it right. 1. Waited in the store about 45 min to get the Keys. Yes, I was the only customer in the store. 2. Store Owner lied to me that having SafeMove is mandatory and have me pay it although I was not interested to getting one. As per website it is not! 3. Found broken glass pieces in the truck. Lucky me and my friends (who helped me moving) were not seriously cut. We cleaned it as soon as we found (really dirty truck) 4. as per the Miles meter reading I only used 12 miles (which is in my final receipt as well). They charged me $16 for 4 gallons of gas. As per website average miles of 10 foot tuck is 12 miles per gallon. The most worst experience I've ever had for sure!!! never going back to this store and will not recommend to any one. I'm sure I wouldn't have gone through such a bad experience with other uhaul store. I had the WORST experience with Uhual renting a trailer and installing wiring. I had to deal with two different locations with extremely RUDE employees. Will not be using Uhual in the future.Gabriela P.
Truck cargo hold was dirty and not cleared after previous use. Hard candies had been left to melt and floors were sticky. Fuel tank was 1/8th not 3/8th as required. Took less than 30 miles to get to res empty mark. There was no joint inspection of vehicle. When called about the issues the representative was rude and said "we dont own the vehicles, not my problem" and when I said I had photo/video she hung up on me. Avoid if possible. Problem was U haul sent me there as it was not my requested location.Miller V.

The location is shady at best. The owner received my keys for a truck and trailer. The vehicle was returned a day in advance. The next day I received a bill for an extra day of usage (despite retuning the vehicle a day in advance). On calling Uhaul I was asked to deal with it with the Uhaul franchise owner. The saga continues. I've rented from Uhaul multiple times in the past. This however was not the experience that I have received from the Uhaul brand, ever. There location is poorly managed. No signals or signs that allow the costumer to show where to park the truck that was returned. I had to call UHaul to have us send a final receipt via email because the attendant that received the truck did not log it in as received and didn't give us a receipt.Nicolas S.

First of all the whole experience with uhaul was ridiculous. They booked me to return the truck 15 miles away from the location I was moving to and then charged me extra because they didn't take into account that the uhaul location was 15 miles from my house. So I called uhaul and after getting the run around and being transferred to 4 different dispatchers they scheduled my drop off to a separate location that was closer. I then went to drop the truck off at that location and got told that there wasn't enough space to store the truck...mind you I just parked it and walked inside to hear this. Now I got back on the phone with uhaul got told to go to a separate location to where once I finally got there they then proceeded to charge me an extra day of rental for extra miles they made me drive and for gas I had to use because they wouldn't allow a reasonable location to drop off. This was by far the worst experience moving I have ever had and I've moved once a year for 5 plus years using uhaul every time.Stean H.

I had made a reservation online and it was not recognized. The person working in the office told me that I could only use it for 2 hours because another person had reserved it which overlapped the time I needed it. The tank was half filled despite that the worker told me it was 3/4 filled. I paid $65 plus gas for a truck that I used for less than 2 hours and I had to rushed my moving people. Due to this experience, I don't think I would ever return to this place to rent any vehicles.LINDA P.

I was over charged an extra day even though I returned my truck a little after midnight that night So when I called the next business day, the associate told me I was charged an Extra day,....then she said no that the fee should have been the only charge total for the truck and that the fee from my pickup location should not have happened. I have never experienced such horrific customer service ! When I got to this location the employee was on her cell phone.I set the keys down on the counter so I can get my wallet out and pay for my rental she grabs my keys and says "I'll check you out" and grabs the keys. She continues to have her conversation with a friend. I said I would like my receipt. This obviously irritated her because she actually had to do her job but still continue to be on phone until I add to ask her to get off of her phone and print me out a receipt . I said I was not going to leave until I got my bill. At this point I became very irritated.I was already annoyed that the truck I rented had no ramps to load my washer and dryer on . I tried to tell her that. She said "I have nothing to do with that." Shrugs her shoulders as if she didn't care and really wanted me out of the store. At this point she threatens to call the police on me I'm sitting down on the barstool in front of the counter because I'm going to ask for receipt I'm going to be threatened to have the cops called on me ! Wow I will never recommend to rent a U-Haul from the chimney rock location. I'm not going to post The pathetic employees name. It's sad that she represents U-Haul she should not have a job!Nicole B.

This is a negative review of company policy and location, not necessarily the employee of this location, since the woman working there was friendly. Uhaul changed my rental location to one quite far from our storage shed, then when we arrived it was closed. The sign on the door said 9, Uhaul CSR said 10 over the phone. We expected a truck ready when we arrived and Uhaul's suggested option of a location in south downtown Houston was unacceptable for an immediate rental. We waited until they opened, got the truck, and the interior of the cab smelled horrible. I took it anyway. This experience put us far behind for the day and all of our other plans were altered as a result. Not happy with Uhaul's "preferred location" policy that allows them to switch pick up locations on you, especially for us out of town renters on a tight schedule.LAURA G.
My confirmation email says I can drop it off at any Uhaul location, then I go to drop it off at the uhaul on San Felipe and they say "we don't take trailers", even though it says ANY UHAUL LOCATION clear as day in my fucking confirmation email. Place is super small. Only one person working and they are overwhelmed. They are trying to do to much. Shipping, packaging, tax returns?, uhaul and wire transfers. the pickup location was terrible. The customer service was awful. They charged us $200 more than they were supposed to (which was subsequently refunded, but still a hassle initially), and no one in this office knew how to assist with the auto transport, even though we were told by a U-Haul rep that someone would be able to assist us so we then had to travel to a different location to pick up the rest of our reservation.HOLLY H.

I would not recommend this location after my experience. I had a reservation to pick up a truck and they were closed when I arrived to the location. Their hours are posted that they open at 9 am. We arrived at 9:30 and they were closed. Then we called at 10:00 and no answer. I then had to scramble to find another location to pick up a truck and had to rent a bigger truck than what I requested. This wasted a good chunk of my morning, made me lose valuable moving time, and moving is stressful enough. They also had the nerve to call me to ask why I never came to pick up the truck. Are you kidding me?? You were not open when you were suppose to be. The location I ended up renting from said they often get people from Pronto that try to pick up their trucks and they are closed. This is a terrible authorized dealer and you need to be aware of who is repressing your brand.Karla R.
I felt nervous dropping off equipment using after hours key box because Pronto Shipping was closed. I expected they would be open. In the future, it would have been good to know they were going to be closed. I arrived on time on 7/4 at 10 AM and called the Pulaski location to at least talk to someone from Uhaul and took my own photos of drop off as backup.HANIA L.

Reservation was made for a pick up truck at 9 a.m. The place was closed. I checked with them several times until 9:30 and stood behind the door, it never opened. When called UHaul, they made another reservation for me for a different place and 4 hours later. When I asked for my $50 guarantee credit, she told me we only pay $50 if we can't find you another truck. Your warranty statement says otherwise and the credit is due if a reserved truck is not available at the same location or same time. I ended up cancelling my reservation.Majid D.

The mileage entered in the contract was different than the mileage the vehicle was showing. Therefore I was charged more miles than then actual use. The attendant was mean at the time I returned the vehicle when I only used it for less than an hour. He was asking me to park the vehicle in a different parking space than the one where I parked because he didn't want to move it himself. I was charged $3.12 USD for using my credit card. I always used U-Haul before and never had that charge. This will be the last time I use this company for either personal or business purposes.Hugo H.
