I was not there for check-in of the tow dolly, but since I got no call from my elderly mother in law, I must assume service and helpfulness was good. She returned it.

We needed Roadside assistance and called U-Haul to arrange it. The dispatcher said someone would be there in 1 hour, plus or minus 10 minutes. After waiting 2 hours, and several calls to U-Haul, the assistance had still not arrived. A nice U-Haul lady called to see if we had been helped and I told her the situation. She contacted the dispatcher to try to locate the help and the dispatcher was rude to her and hung up on her so she filed a report on the rude dispatcher. The roadside assistance finally got to our location and, with help from my husband and father, was able to get into the truck. There was no reason for us to have to wait more than 2 hours to have roadside assistance come help us get into the truck.

I was moving out of Houston on my way to Charlottesville on Thursday and my transmission went out near Lufkin. While the trailer I rented was in fine shape and fit my belongings perfectly, I no longer had a running vehicle to tow said trailer with. Fearing the worst day I’d had in longer than I could remember was about to get worse with a changed destination penalty, U-Haul representative Tammy came to my rescue. She was able to accept my returned trailer 4 days early and without penalty, which considering the looming cost of replacing my transmission, was a lifesaver. The way she handled the situation and how she treated me(as well as the national U-Haul associate I overheard her on the phone with) was top notch and as polite as one could ever ask for in any customer service interaction. Tammy spared me from the prospect of a nightmarish day actually getting worse and I’ll never forget her for that. I hope she is somehow recognized for her sweetness and professionalism as I’d bet anything that’s just how she is. I’d actually be quite shocked if she didn’t receive glowing reviews from everyone she deals with. You can just tell she is a good person and U-Haul should be grateful to have her representing them.

No of the U-Haul employees would help me to or change my drop off location. I even called U-Haul traffic line and the woman who was supposedly in charge without a manager being present refused to change me drop off location. My plans changed and I received no help from U-Haul. What I got from U-Haul was disrespect, lies and a difficult situation.

The van was over armor alled. The step up into the drivers and passengers seats were dangerously slippery. My foot kept slipping off the pedals because they were so slick. Other than that, it was a good experience.
