The trailer door was in need of greasing, it was very hard to raise, kept sticking and had to be forced open. The hitch lock would not actually lock, but we were able to put it through the loops and it did stay in place during transit.

The worker that we encountered Carlyle abbey did not have on a name tag he explained the initial charge would be return which it wasent I was charge twice. I advised of how far we needed to go he put it down as in town rental so I was charged more money for a longer trip. Even when I called on Monday I was advised my money would be returned which it is now being stated that it will not. I’ve rented with U-Haul since 2006 I’ve never had a problem. But this is unacceptable and DONT RENT HERE. I wouldn’t send a dog here, to move a bone. November 10-2018

Worst dropoff I have ever experienced with any sort of vehicle, including rental cars which I rent often. After the pickup fiasco, I wanted to make sure I dropped the keys off to someone, they checked the truck, gave me a receipt, and told me I was good to go.I pulled up to a weird location, guy is standing outside by himself, not in any sort of uniform or identifying clothes. I joke with him that he's just a dude there collecting keys and stealing trucks. He shows me the other sets of keys from all the other trucks like I'm being a jerk (I was joking with him). Anyway. I ask him if he can please check the truck, odometer, check that I swept, and check the gas. I just knew from my prior experience that I wanted to see everything done. He says "nah man you are good." I repeated, "are you sure? I would much rather you checked while I was here, "yeah, don't worry about it, you are fine." I ask about a receipt for dropoff, "oh, you will get that to your e-mail within a few minutes". I got the receipt when I got home, $57 dollar charge for gas! They said I needed to return it with 1/4 tank - which it was filled up to. He said it was apparently 3/16? Not the case, but regardless, there was a gas station right there, I would have put $5 more in gas if he had just checked the gas when I asked various times!! I then sat on the phone with customer service for an hour before getting refunded the $57 (which has not hit my account yet). The place was closed at this point and the area manager was not there, so this was another pain in the ass. Oh and lastly, my origin to destination was a total of 25 miles. I had to go a total of 50 miles because the pickup location and dropoff location were a total of 25 miles out of my way!! Very frustrating.

I picked up the tow dolly at this location and was offered no assistance in loading my vehicle nor was there anyone there to inspect that I hooked it up correctly. I find this unsatisfactory and found out from a trucker that it was on incorrectly and I paid him to help me reload my vehicle. I am seeking some sort of reimbursement.

When I dropped of my location, it was after hours and so I had to do the online self-checkout. Again, I was annoyed because when setting-up the rental, I was told to drop it off at a different location and no one ever mentioned the Mine Hill center. Luckily, it wasn't too far from the Kenvil location I intended to drop it off at. However, on the billing end, we did not receive the credit from the "free miles" that were given to us a result of the scheduling and pick-up locations. I had to call customer service and explain the situation and the representative had to put in a complaint claim. The claim was ultimately processed, though I think the discount applied was too low, but I am too frustrated to fight it anymore. As the customer, I shouldn't have to chase down and point out the company's mistakes when everything is supposed to be electronically entered and calculated in the system. For a moving equipment rental company, you need to get your logistics in order. Seems like no one wants to talk to each other, nor the customer unless they are called.

I rented a 6’ x 12’ trailer and it did not have a jack. It was difficult to remove the trailer from the hitch when I returned because of the weight. A trailer this large should have a jack.

My truck had significant body damage to the cab doors. The passenger door wouldn’t open and close properly. I worried the whole time if it would fly open or not.

The vehicle was clean but the check engine light was on. The inside of the truck bed had broken side rails which made it difficult to strap. You should have steps to get into the van and out. from the passenger and driverside as they are just unsafe. power windows makes sense also and GPS. I would pay more for those things. I did need to jump start the vehicle once also but that may have been my fault.

No major issues with the location. However truck had low tire pressure - almost flat. That issue should have been fixed before being rented again. My main issue was with conflicting instructions when calling UHaul, reservations getting my request wrong, changing my move dates, giving me bad information, and rudeness of some of those answering the phone.
