I originally rented a UHaul to be picked up and dropped off at the Plainville location but was emailed and called to say that the Plainville location did not have any 10ft truck for my requested time and day so my truck rental was switched to a New Britain pick up location. It was out of the way and made me use more miles and gas than needed if I could have stayed with the Plainville location ( I was moving from one apartment in Plainville to another apartment in the same town, both a 2-3 minute drive to the U-Haul location). Not only did they make me go to a random New Britain location out of my way, I actually passed a UHaul pick up place on my way to a random shop that did rental for U-Haul. I felt bothered and annoyed at the whole process. AND while driving the U-Haul (that I had to go out of my way to get) to my new apartment, I passed the U-Haul location in Plainville (because it’s in the middle of both apartment locations) and saw a RIDICULOUS amount of Uhauls in the parking lot just sitting there. There had to have been over 10 trucks of the size I needed just sitting there and yet I was told there wouldn’t be any that day or time. It irritated me and I was charged more $ than I needed to be. I honestly don’t know if I will use U-Haul in the future due to this experience.

Allison SOrdered a pickup at 10am. No one was there. The person said that he was running late and showed up half an hour later. Told me to check in on the app. Couldn't open the lock box with the code. Finally he showed up and helped get the key. Tried to leave because I was now very late (in the pouring rain, no less) and there's no windshield wiper on the passenger side. The rubber is literally hanging off and the metal was scraping the windshield. So I had to go back inside, where the man had to call his supervisor and be walked through the process of giving me a different truck. That took another 15 minutes and now I am VERY late. I'm told that I will get a link in the app to setup the new truck and take new pictures. But when I went to take new pictures it told me I couldn't return the first uhaul because I hadn't driven it yet. So I had to go back inside again. At that point, I was told to take a picture of the dashboard and just go. So, the entire time I was driving the Uhaul I was nervous that I had not properly checked out the vehicle I was in and that any insurance coverage I had purchased wouldn't be valid. The entire experience was absolutely awful and I will not be dealing with Uhaul ever again.
