It took pretty long to get our van because there was another customer in front of us but the lady apologized and did a good job. Besides the waiting time everything was great. It would be better if the vehicles had the tank full but it never happen.

I expressed my total dissatisfaction to Ms A Cortez, the local mgr in Santa Barbara. She was helpful and not responsible for my issues, but this was not a positive customer experience at all.

The vehicle was filthy. Inside and outside. The cab wreaked! I rent from this location all the time and the staff is great but this was really disappointing. There was a dog leash, and dog hair inside the cab of the van. Not to mention food in the center compartment which I found a day into the rental. When I returned the van I asked for a discount and the employee said he would have the manager call and hopefully give me some sort of compensation. Haven't heard anything so I'm probably going to call again.

Hi there, So, this uhaul experience was a disaster from start to finish. When I arrived to the center I was handed keys and told to go find my truck. The young man who provided me with the keys looked like he couldn't care less about me. I received NO HELP or guidance whatsoever. Ok, I thought, I'm a grown woman, I can figure this out on my own. I found the truck and headed to my intended location to pick up some items. While en route, I received a frantic call telling me I didn't check in and that I needed to check in. I tried checking in once I got to my location but I couldn't because the GPS was indicating that I was not within the vicinity of the U-Haul store. I decided to move my items and then return the truck, which took less than an hour and I only drove 10 miles. When I arrived back at the U-Haul center, a different employee helped me check in. This employee did an incredible job. He was middle eastern, I think? His name might have been Esref? He was fantastic in helping me navigate part 2 of this nightmare. Part 2 - when he tried to check me out, he realized that the former employee had given me the wrong keys to the wrong car. So, he had to call customer service and have that all figured out. It took about 30 minutes from the time I arrived until the problem was solved. Again, this employee was extremely helpful, courteous, and professional. All in all, I got the truck situation figured out. But, I doubt I will ever come back to this location. Moving is already so stressful, why should employee oversight add to a mover's stress?

The location is hard to spot - there is no clear signage from the road - and the drive is poorly maintained and extremely narrow. There is no space to turn a vehicle around in or leave a vehicle, so I had to arrange to be dropped off and picked up. If more than one vehicle is trying to use the drive things can get sticky. Better off going to the location down the street, which at least has a limited parking lot that you can use to turn a car around in or idle in to avoid blocking the drive. The windshield and mirror of the truck was only cleaned on the drivers' side. Dirt on the interior stained the furniture we moved.

The location is hidden at the bottom of a hill and there is a giant, unavoidable pothole right in front of the gate. Equipment was great and staff was friendly and helpful.

Provide clear instructions about how to locate office and where to park - this is not an area you want to walk in. Provide more info about what to expect from automatic check in.

I tried to return my truck after hours and apparently, I needed a security code to get through the gate. Since it was AFTER hours, I had to wait near the gate and call someone who was supposed to be "on-call" that day for help, no one ever picked up my call and I waited for 2 hours before going to another U-haul drop off location. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE .

Overall great experience with you guys at U-Haul. The only thing that can be improved upon would be remembering to include the additional equipment (i.e. Utility Dolly) that was reserved and paid for ahead of time with the U-Haul vehicle.

I went there the day before my rental at 5:20 to buy some boxes. Nobody was working. The sign said someone would be back at 4:30 so I'm not sure how long the store was closed, but I was very displeased about having to stand outside for more than 20 minutes waiting for someone to come and let me in. It is generally accepted that if a store says it will be open for a set of hours, that it will not randomly be closed for a long portion in the middle of that time period. There were other displeased customers waiting outside with me. I can't speak for them, but I will not be returning to this location.

I was extremely unimpressed by the service quality when I went to pick up my uhaul. First, the location is uninviting and hard to find with very little signage to tell you that it is the correct place. The driveway is not well paved and it is very confusing what to and where to park when you first arrive. Michael was the employee who helped me check in. I had ordered boxes before online and he was not aware about that (the website told me that they would already be in the truck when I picked it up). I then got into my cargo van and pulled out and asked to buy some more boxes. Michael was unable to help me because the "computer system was down". I offered to pay in cash, pay later, do anything to get some more boxes, but his answer was continuously no. He told me to drive down the street to the other uhaul location to buy them there. I went there and they had 4 people working and sold me boxes instantly. I then realized that the moving blankets I ordered were not in the van. I called Michael and asked if he had put them in. He had forgotten to do so. So I had to drive back. I told him I was frustrated and asked if there was anything he could do to help me, but he just said no. I will definitely not be using this uhaul location again and will not recommend it to anyone I know.
