In picking up my vehicle (15' truck) I was overcome by the smell of cigarette smoke in the cab. In the ashtray were two cigarette stubs (already smoked) and a great deal of cigarette ash. I immediately went to the staff at this location and asked for another vehicle. to drive. Unfortunately I was told there were no other 15' trucks on the lot. She did offer me a 20' but I did not want to drive a truck that big. She then offered to clean the ashtray for me but I told her I would throw the cigarette butts out myself. Why do you allow smoking in these trucks? It is a deal breaker for me and my wife. If I had the time upon pickup I would have surrendered my smoke filled truck and gone to a competitor (Penske, Budget). If you check my name you will see I have, in the past few months, rented a double axle trailer and two 15' trucks, all heading from NC to Florida. I have always been satisfied with U-Haul and the equipment you provide....until this incident. I have rented cars over the years and always noticed signs indicating "this is a Smoke Free vehicle" and always mentioning a substantial monetary fine for anyone who smokes in these vehicles. Why can't U-Haul do the same? I am certain I am not the first of your customers to complain about smoke in the vehicles you rent.

Jessica was a Godsend! Easter weekend and we had to arrive in town from FL and load up our home we sold in NC and leave out the next morning. Everyone was closed for the holidays. Calling Uhaul locations all over town - and we finally found Jessica at this location. She KNEW everything and took care of everything and was very patient with us when we got lost! She was able to meet us early in the morning to get us up and running! She hooked up our cargo trailer and we made it safely back home 800 miles later! Thank you Jessica!!!!!! The location we were supposed to drop off was Clyde - as stated on our contract. We get to Clyde and the place we were supposed to drop off the truck was no longer a drop-off site. After a crazy amount of time on the phone to figure out where we needed to take the truck we got charged additional fees for mileage to take it to the new location ???? Not at all what I need to be dealing with as my father had just died and we were renting a truck to move his belongings.
