After 2 day rental of 5 allowed dropped truck off. Asked the lady do I sign anything â€œnoâ€ she said â€œjust give me the keyâ€ ten days later I get a Uhaul email where is the truck? I call the number another person says never mind we got it dismiss the email. Then I get another email where I have been charged for 8 days at $40 a day for returning the truck late plus the insurance cost all because they didn't check the truck in when I dropped it off. Uhaul customer service is trying to get me a credit back on my card over $400 dollars because these people didn't do their job.Clifford S.

My experience picking up this truck was ridiculous to say the least. I rented it at one location, was called and asked to move to another location 5 miles away, day before I was contacted and asked to move an additional 10 miles away to pick up a truck, all of which I agreed to. I was also told that due to the inconvenience I would be given an additional 50 miles. When I showed up at the West Harrison Ave location to pick up the truck, the lockbox was defective and after spending 30 minutes trying to open it, and over an hour on the phone being transferred three times, I was then given a new location to go pick up a truck. This location was again another 5 to 6 miles farther away. So even if I had been given that 50 miles, Uhaul ate it up and moving my locations. When returning the truck I was then given a charge of for going over mileage. What a slap in the face. I have additional moving to do from the Indianapolis location to the new home that I have built. I will not use Uhaul again based on this experience. Even if it cost me more it will be worth it for the peace of mind knowing that I won't be stressed out day of moving. In this current instance, my move was behind 2+ hours with people waiting, that I was paying, for me to show up with a truck. I believe Uhaul owes me some kind of compensation for what they put me through, but instead I just get placed on hold. No one to talk to ever! When I dropped the truck off the worker was very unprofessional and spoke to me like I was an idiot, was also on his phone speaking to someone in a different language while helping me. He didn't seem to care or understand when I told him the vehicle was not shifting properly and was staying in 3 and you could hear it rev when you were driving.Alexis W.

Got charged the wrong amount, was told someone would call but no one ever did. Have tried calling the customer service line multiple times but sit on hold for 30 mins plus and no one answers. Absolutely awful customer service, will not be using uhaul ever againcharles H.
Owner of location was very rude and screamed and cussed me out had to have a police officer passing stop in for my safety because he was making threats! He never got off of his cell phone and when returning he got right in truck and started to smoke and when I went to pick up truck he was smoking in it! Very unprofessional! I have used uhaul and so has my family many times over the years! We will not be using uhaul again!Caitlin R.

We asked for a dolly and moving blankets knowing how heavy the item we needed to move was heavy. We were told they were in the back. He even looked. When we got to the place and opened the back, it was empty. We gave 3 guys $45 (all the cash we had on us) to put it in the truck. And it was quite the struggle. When we got home we had to woman handle it the best we could with some damage to the item. When calling the owner the next day he hung up on us. We are pissed off to say the least.Beverly H.

The provided truck lock was broken and clearly not working before we got the truck. He hinted around as if we damaged it. Funny part is that was the first thing he walked to and checked when we returned the truck. It wasn't checked when we picked the truck up though lol. He tried to push and say we didn't put enough gas in it when actually we put in just a smidge over from what we received. Besides the customer service being shady, the truck it's self was probably one of the roughest trucks I've rented. The noises and the ride itself was rough. At the end of the day it did the job but I'll probably stick with the competitor.Shannon A.

Was secretly charged for the safe drive 14$ insurance.. the man admitted he added it and that I should have looked better.. he didn't ask if I wanted the additional insurance or that I could deny it he just charged it to me.. I would recommend a new clerk. The gentleman had poor customer service even at the sign out. He took a personal call while I was on time for the reservation. Then at the time of vehicle return, he claimed that he explained that we had to notify him before leaving with the truck that the cart would be charged if it is out of zip tie. We failed to check and when we opened the truck offsite, it seems the cart was off its zip tie. We tried to explain this to the clerk. He raised his voice and rudely blamed me for this. I explained I wasn't looking for an out, I was in a hurry to do some book donations. He then admitted that he recalled us telling him we already had a cart we owned. Then further added "I don't give a damn what you were doing - you were suppose to tell me if the cart was off its zip tie" In hindsight - I probably should have checked. However, I was driving off with the expectation the truck was in a condition that most U-Haul locations are. In mint condition and everything in tact. I am not seeking any refund for the rental, but I strongly advise you to look into this gentleman who handles this location. His attitude and demeanor were completely unprofessional.Eric H.
Well, the locations can be open when they say they are going to be open. We arrived a few minutes past 8:00 am and the location was dark and locked. We called customer service and all they could offer was for me to talk to a scheduler to find another location. The only information they were able to provide was that the employee had not clocked in for the day.. obviously. We asked if they could contact him to see if he was on his way; they said no and I could either wait or call another location. At 8:25, the employee finally arrived and wasn't he a gem. He finally let me enter the building at about 8:30, after turning on lights and starting the coffee pot, and clearly didn't want to deal with the uhaul side of his business. While he was barely speaking to me and getting me checked in, he stopped what he was doing TWICE to assist his convenient store customers. I didn't walk out of the store with keys until about 8:45.. so, it basically took me 45 minutes to get that van. The van itself still had trash in the cupholders and mud all along the floor. At the end of the day, the van worked for what we needed but this was not a pleasant experience.bri-anne D.

Signing for the uhaul was hassle free but the location is a gas station and the trailer is parked close to the pump so when I finally hocked the trailer up I had to wait for a customer to finishing pumping gas so I could pull out. After I returned the trailer and detached it, I went inside and asked if there was anything I needed to do before I leave the trailer. The worker simply said nope it's all good. The next day I get an email saying I haven't returned the trailer...Zachary H.
When the truck was returned at the last minute because no extra time was allowed, the computer was not working at the station. Therefore we got a late email that required a response. The woman at the Shell station counter did not inspect the truck, but just wrote a note about when it was turned in. Today I got a bill for cleaning This should have been done when we dropped the truck off so that I could have swept or dealt with whatever was needed.
