The gas policy is utter bullshit - to base the fuel consompution on the gas gauge is entirely disingenuous. The truck I used is rated at 10mpg - I clocked 28 miles - filled three gallons of gas before dropping off, and am now being charged for 3.5 more gallons plus the service fee. Considering how inaccurate gas gauges are, this is a total scam. Really makes me not trust U-Haul

We had so many issues with this reservation. Our truck was supposed to be ready at 9am at Sherman Parking Management. When we arrived, the attendant pretty much ignored us and stalled, and then around 10am he admitted that the truck was missing from the night before. He should have told us that before we commuted over there. He was not helpful at all at helping us find an alternative. My boyfriend called uhaul and you switched the reservation to another location (A1 Auto Repairs), and said you’d pay for the Uber ride over there. We provided the receipt, but have not received compensation. We were also told that we’d get a $50 credit towards our bill, but didn't. We had booked and paid for movers, so it sucks that we had to pay them to just sit there and do nothing since our uhaul reservation was so messed up. Once at the second uhaul location we were told that they don’t have the right truck or dolly, but out of desperation we agreed to take whatever they had. The truck was covered in graffiti and damages, and had a container of piss behind the driver's seat.

I had trouble signing into the app for self check-in, and a customer service agent changed my pick up location after I asked her not to. It took another phone call and 30 mins of paid time from my movers to finally get the truck checked out from the correct location. On top of that, the UHaul guy wasn't even at the location to help. Another attendant was there but he couldn't offer us any assistance and didn't know when the Uhaul guy was coming back. He was nice, but the ovarall experience was frustrating and cost me extra money.

Unfortunately, the U-Haul equipment order was incorrect when I picked it up. I ordered and was charged for 2 dozen blankets, but was only given 6. This resulted in an incredibly difficult moving day since we were planning on using 24 blankets.

I pre paid for the dolly and hand truck - these two items were not provided with the van. The van was brand new and in excellent condition. Mobile pick up and return was excellent.

Was Charged a $27 cleaning fee. When i hadn't left any rubbish in cab. Phoned and emailed about the fee. But No answers! Been a week of trying. According to internet U haul do this all the time. Very disappointing

I tried to rent from the same location the day before and was told conflicting information by the attendant wasting my time and forcing me to come back. Then to top it all off, the app tries to charge me a $25 cleaning fee! The truck was so thrashed and dirty it was almost a cliche. That truck hasn't been cleaned in years. Fuck your cleaning fee. Uhaul living up to its trashy reputation.

My latest U-Haul rental experience, was unbelievably sub-par - just when I thought it couldn't go any worse than the time I rented with them earlier. So, I rent a truck for self-pick up in Brooklyn at 8pm (for 24hrs). When I get there 8pm sharp, the app said I need to check in in person instead (note this location closes at 5pm). I called customer service and it took about ONE hour for me to get a human being on the other line to pick up. It took SO long that my phone died and I had to bike home first to go recharge my phone (I left with 75%). Even the people in the emergency hotline had NO power to somehow prioritize my case given my issues to pick up the van and my low battery warning. When I finally was able to get the issue resolved, the representative on the line advised me to use 'the browser', not the app. It was then 9:30pm, 1,5 hrs after I was supposed to pick up my van. Since this is the SECOND time this frustrating scenario happened in a short amount of time, this points to a systemic breakdown rather than a sporadic occurrence. I am a starting, new business owner and all I can say is that I can't rely on U-Haul for my transportation needs. I have missed over $100s of assignments on these 2 instances, ended up working throughout the night to make up for last time, and worst of all made a bad impression on these very important first customers.

The van was excellent. Using the mobile app return was very convenient. Bu the parking area for the van and the area around the key lock boxes were incredibly filthy. Absolutely disgusting. I as an adult man of 60 years is fine with it, but I could never recommend it to my wife or a woman who would be alone.
