The 6x12 trailer did not have a trailer jack to lift the tongue. The U-Haul retailer is in a convenience store where the owner was inattentive during the hook up if the trailer, attending to other customers and leaving me (an inexperienced consumer) to my own devices to jump in and do it myself (which I was completely unable to do). He left a new employee who had no training and did not know how to hook up a trailer with me to fumble about trying to hook up the chains, etc. When the owner came back, my 58 yr old boyfriend was enlisted to help and strained his back in the process of lifting this huge, heavy trailer on to the back of my truck without a trailer jack. The owner left again, and had I not looked at a “how to” You-tube video, I would not have insisted that the chains be shortened to not drag and the brake chain to be tightened to be effective. They did not have the proper rubber stops on all of the chains to hold them in place. I had to ask for them. I even had to prompt them to check that my lights were working properly after I connected the wires (the inexperienced employee handed the wires to me to install myself). What a safety nightmare. I’m really upset that my boyfriend was hurt in the process of working with subpar equipment. When I took the trailer back, the young man employee on duty that helped me was knowledgeable and unhooked the trailer on his own. He unbelievably lifted the heavy trailer off of the hitch and got it to the ground without a trailer jack. I felt so bad for him. I’m not typically one to complain, but I will never go back.

Make sure you know in what condition trucks rented to customers are. It was the dirtiest truck I have rented to date and the tires were full of muds.

All the Trucks were stuck in the mud/swamp. Instead of the owner taking the time to get the trucks out, he had us/the customer trying different trucks. This location needs someone available just for Uhaul pickup, I kept having to wait for the owner to finish sales transactions for his store. For all the trouble we went through the owner thought $5 dollars off was the best he could do. I will always go to the uhaul on Lombardy ave from here on out. I will NEVER use this location again.

I was charged for a different price for Milages from the picture I took of it before we left from the location & that's was wrong and had to put more gas in it when we didnt use that much gas

Nice guy...he was courteous... however this U-Haul location is in a "convenience store" so you have to compete with two other register's... definitely understaffed during my visit... I would use them again for sure tho'

Friendly staff. I would recommend that Uhaul (not the business's fault)I list the business is a gas station. Being in the country, a person may add extra miles to the truck looking for a place to fill it before returning.

Be accurate with beginning odometer reading. Extra mileage was on the paperwork, we took a pic of the mileage at the start of destination, communicated with the person who said it would be corrected and wound up still paying for an extra 30 miles. Not right. The owner is a nice guy and I only used the store bc it was less than 5 mins from my home. Just be fair about things.

The owner was rude. He repeatedly walked away from my transaction, serving more than 20 customers in that time. I had to call uhaul twice before he even bothered to call and figure out what the system issue was. When he finally got it (nearly an hour later), he handed me the keys, pointed me to a dolly, and proceeded to try to verbally berate me about how he'd figured it out and there was no reason for me to he frustrated (I'd done everything online in advance, so this should have been a quick in and out). Then I had to go find my truck, load the dolly, and back out of an insa2nely tight space with no assistance.

I was shocked when the attendant told me how much I owed for mileage. I thought he initially told me .39 cents per mile but when I turned truck back in the mileage cost .89 cents per mile. With 90 miles driven on the truck to accommodate my needs I was floored. The English barrier between your attendant and myself was to blame.

I do not recommend renting a Uhaul from a corner store “foreigners”. Very poor customer service. I’m a punctual individual when it comes to time and getting things done. I arrived to pick up the van at 8pm which I made prior reservations and called 3 times before coming to assure things were ready. He started helping me and didn’t seem to know what he was doing and contioursly stopped to go help other customers (customer service poor) probably over 10 customers. I waited 55 mins from 8pm until I told him I was a little frustrated. Upon returning the vehicle not only did I experience the same problem but he charge me for more then I used the vehicle. This led to a verbal altercation and being myself I ended it, gave him what he so called calculated, decided I’d handle thing through a review and thanked the Lord I didn’t whip his ass!

Happy that what I needed was there and we got it done. However, hard communicating with anyone other that Gary. Language barrier made it difficult to understand. Trailer jack wasn't functioning properly and we were lucky we got it to retract. In the end, it all worked out fine but it was not a cLear and easy transaction by any means. Older gentleman, while hard to understand did go above and beyond to keep the deal going, had to battle with u-haul program on his laptop but he pulled through.
