To Whom It May Concern, I just want to make it clear right away – this was hands down the worst rental experience I’ve ever had, and I’m beyond fed up. First of all, the truck pickup location was at a hotel known for meth and drug activity. That’s where you sent me to get my truck. While I was there, I literally saw a woman walk in with her family to check in, take one look around, and immediately walk out saying, “this place is terrible, I wouldn’t stay here.” Honestly, I don’t blame her – there was someone passed out in the lobby. That’s the kind of location U-Haul thought was acceptable for customers. Strike one. When I picked up the truck, there was no dolly in the back like there should have been. I had to go back to that same shady hotel to get one. Completely unnecessary hassle. Then let’s talk about the truck itself. The fuel gauge was just over 3/4 full when I got it, but I returned it with a full tank because I don’t play games – I do things right. But the cab? Didn’t look dirty at first until I had to slam on the brakes and trash – a water bottle and other junk – came sliding out from under both seats. Clearly nobody bothered to clean the inside before giving it to me. The real nightmare, though, was the air conditioning. I hit a bump and the horn beeped. Hit another bump and the A/C blower motor completely shut off. This wasn’t just a compressor issue – the entire blower motor stopped working. And this happened when the heat index was 109°. I was stuck driving for almost an hour in dangerous heat with no A/C. Only after I turned on my turn signal (seriously?!) did the blower motor randomly kick back on. The next day, on my way to return the truck, the blower motor cut out again. Then, after I stopped for gas, it suddenly started working – like the thing had a mind of its own. Completely unacceptable. Here’s the worst part – I’ve had a heat stroke before, which means I’m vulnerable to heat illness. Because of this faulty truck, I ended up in the emergency room after vomiting and becoming extremely dizzy. My ER bill was over $4,000, and I haven’t even hit my insurance deductible yet. Meanwhile, U-Haul keeps trying to take money off my card like nothing happened. If this ends up in court, I will not hesitate to bring all of my medical paperwork with me. And honestly, I’m already considering contacting a lawyer. And let’s not forget – it was obvious people had been smoking in this truck. The smell was in the cab. Another complete failure of basic quality control. Overall, this was an absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. From the sketchy pickup location, to the filthy truck, to the unsafe equipment that literally put me in the hospital – this was a nightmare. I can confidently say I will never rent from U-Haul again. From now on, I’ll be going with Budget Truck Rental, because at least I’ll know I’m not putting my health at risk just to move some things. Fed up and done with U-Haul, Mike Plonka

Just dropped off. No personnel needed
LUIS MThe hotel where this was located, did not feel safe, a lot of shady people in the casino, the employees were bad mouthing the bosses, and then the environment just seemed filthy. I am taking my business elsewhere, I had better experience from other locations.
BRADLEY WTruck was dirty inside the cab and bed. Dirty napkins were in the seat. Soda spills around the cup holder and surrounding dash. The gear shift was difficult to move. Seemed wobbly when putting into gear. Truck needed some maintenance and cleaning.
SARAH GInside of truck has not been swept out.
