  • Not in Kansas Anymore – For those moving from another state, there may be a few things you may have to get used to. This will probably be the easiest… Oregon has no sales tax! The price at the grocery store is the actual cost of the item. Now, when heading to the gas pump, expect some personal service! In Oregon, a gas attendant must fill up your gas tank, as you are not permitted. Another thing that you may not be familiar with is that Oregon is an alcoholic beverage control state. The sale of hard spirits and liquor is controlled by the state and cannot be sold in grocery stores. They can only be purchased from state approved liquor agents. Of course, there will be adjustments living in a new area, but it's an exciting time.
