Helpful Tips Moving to Charlotte, North Carolina

  • Timing your move – Similar to other southeastern cities, Charlotte has all four seasons and so it can get very humid in the summer and reach freezing temperatures (below 32 degrees) during the winter. We suggest timing your move to be prepared for the seasonality.
  • Choosing your neighborhood – A very family oriented city, Charlotte is home to many diverse neighborhoods. Just south of downtown Charlotte, Myers Park is one of the more affluent and upscale neighborhoods in Charlotte and is easily identified by its oak tree shaded winding roads. Just west of Myers Park, the Dilworth neighborhood offers bungalow-style homes with a diverse blend of restaurants and small shops in close proximity. Sedgefield is another great neighborhood that features single-family homes and duplexes, many of the homes here have been remodeled or rebuilt. These are just three options you may want to consider when looking for your new home.
  • It's a racing city – Charlotte is one of the few cities in North America that is recognized for having a presence in car racing. NASCAR has events in May, October and November in 2014, so take the family out for a new experience at the Charlotte Motor Speedway once you get moved in.
